He is at MIchigan State now. I think he is a guy that whenever Bohl is gone, the pokes should look at for Head Coach.

I would definitely be cool with this. Of course he may make more now than he would at Wyoming.

Mel Tucker is about to get a huge extension at MSU.. Guessing Scottie will get a big raise too. Would love to see him here, but I just don't see it

Would be a great hire. I think his philosophy is to get players in situations to best use their talent. He might enjoy being a d coordinator more than a head coach though.

Hazelton's goal is to head back to the NFL at some point as a coordinator or head coach. If he thinks Wyoming could get him there, it's possible. Having said that, Hazelton made about $1 million this year, and (as mentioned) is probably getting a raise based on their success. Short of Bohl retiring sometime in the next 14 months, I don't think UW will be able to afford Scottie.

The following quote is from another thread recently:

I think the FBS level still is just a level up too much for Bohl and his coordinators and coaches, even at the Mountain West. Always have said If Bohl is spozed to be so good why do we have him? Medocrity gets old to me, 9-3 or 10-2 isn't too much to ask for in Year 8 and with Super Seniors I don't think....sigh....

If the underlined and bolded text is true....what hope is there to ever get a coach that is any good? If there is a guy out there that consensus says is a great hire for us...then he would also be a great hire for other, more attractive positions, and would therefore go elsewhere. We are at the point in a Wyoming head coaches tenure where we are casting about for the replacement but it seems like we all share this attitude of "well...if the next coach would want to be here...that means he is not good enough to have other options."

I too think Hazelton would be a good coach, but I also think there is zero chance of us luring him back here. Please don't accuse me of "giving up" for merely pointing this out.

If Burman could get him around 1.5 that he pays Bohl. I think Scottie would consider the job. I think it probably would depend on if he liked Laramie or not.
