I feel this game is critical...not because of bowl implications, but because UW has such a large deficit in terms of conference and fan respect.....UW needs to salvage and secure any amount possible going forward. Should UW lose, I see the program fast approaching the nadir days of Koenning and will cement in most peoples mind that UW is (consistently) the worst program in the conference despite the previous wins. UH has not lost in the way UW has lost, UNM appears on an upward trajectory, CSU is having their best season in a long time, and most see the AFA debacle as an aberration.

With that, it appears many are still predicting a win. Not sure myself. Hawaii appears to be fielding a much more competitive team than the Pokes and not unprecedented for DC to hand a team its only win of the season (reference the recent UNM team that had exactly one win.....against the Cowboys).

I would not be surprised if UH won by at least fourteen. In fact, I think that is more likely than the Pokes winning. That seems to go against the majority of fan predictions......what am I missing? What are the reasons folks see UW winning this one?
 
If the Pokes lose it will not be because of the awful defense. It will be because of Dave's predictable offensive playbook. It is looking more and more like Koenning's. Koenning once told me that he doesn't do "trick" plays, like reverses. He said he tried one once against CSU and it didn't work (like all his other plays!).

Dave seems to come from a background where you just go straight ahead and assume that your talent will be better than the opponent's talent and that is what will determine the outcome. Well Dave, the talent pool at Wyo. has dwindled, so you have to put some surprises and tricks in to compensate for thiis.
 
I don't know if wyo will win. But....I do know if wyo wins the final 2 games we go bowling
So as a fan in desperation mode I am going to the Wyo-Hawaii game just hoping for a win. I don't care if we win 3-2 or 100-99. I just want a win.
This game will tell A LOT about whether DC has lost the locker room. If Brett Smith comes out uninterested we're fucked. If the seniors come out not giving a shit....wyo football is in the shitter.
Hawaii is desperate for a win. They've been in about every game they've played.
Wyo just needs to come out and do what they can for the win.
 
I still think we beat Hawaii. They played SDS in Honolulu. Hawaii has to travel to the froze wasteland of Laramie. I think even a 50 degree day will affect them. That and time change.

Hawaii has a special gift. They have been in every game they have lost this season (which is, you know.... all of them)...and managed to lose all of them. Fresno, San Jose, Colorado St., San Diego St., you name it.....they were close, and found a way to lose. I think this game will be close. Joey Iosefa is a load at RB....he'll be tough to deal with. It would not be wise for the Pokes to give forth a half-assed effort, but either way.....I see Wyoming sneaking this one out. Do not underestimate Hawaii's ability to fuck things up.

Hell, Hawaii even played USC and Oregon State tough.
In reality they aren't that far away from being a 8 win team.

Boise 56 UW 14. Last week. What the hell was I thinking? I should have realized that Boise would have the 4th and 5th stringers in the 4th quarter, and not get to 56.

Joey Iosefa, is a hard running running back and will give us problems as usual, I can't see Hawaii beating us unless we come out not caring about anything, but I'd really like to see Wyo fire on all cylinders for a change, give me a bit of hope for the future. let's see the O line protect Brett for a change and throw for 450 and 5 tds, wouldn't that be nice
 
Based off of the way we have played football since the Nebraska game we won't win.. I guess we played well against Air Force, but they're awful. For real, Think about it. We didn't play well against Idaho or UNC.. they were just awful. We got smacked by Texas State. We almost blew the game against NM... Got smacked by CSU, couldn't hold a 20 point lead against San Jose... got smacked by fresno, got smacked by Boise... offense hasn't done a damn thing... why should we think we are going to beat Hawaii?

Because Hawaii has won as many games this season as everyone on this board has.
