Hawaii!

Hell yeah! Sorry to those who don't like this move but, for selfish reasons, I am so glad to have them back. My first game was UW at Hawaii when I was a kid and my dad was visiting one of his buddies from WWII who was Hawaiian. Brown and Gold leis, frozen coconuts with the top whacked off, bikinis, and the luaus after the game. If you haven't made the trip, it is definitely worth it.

What was the name of the trophy we used to play for? Paniolo?

If this is Football only, it is going to be great. I see no down side to it. Hell, Utah and BYU have been ripping into the LDS recruiting pipeline to the islands for years. Maybe we get a shot now? Hawaii's BCS run counts for us doesn't it?

The players are absolutely going to love this.

Hopefully, the CJC folks are going to get hot on putting together travel deals for after the move. Again, sorry to those who aren't pumped about this but, I hope you change your minds after they get back in the conference.

Wasn't their BCS game in 07-08? I dont think it will count.
As far as travel money goes I dont see it as a bad thing since its only one game every 2 years or however they will set it up. But I love watching Hawaii play most years, always loved the rivalry and I think if Wyoming can pull their heads out of their asses from here out it will be a fun series again :thumb:

Hawaii played Georgia in the 2008 Sugar Bowl (after the 2007 season) and got their asses handed to them similar to how OSU destroyed us in the 1988 Holiday Bowl.

Wyoming leads the all-time series at 12-8 and we won the last 5 games (4 were blowouts!).

Wasn't it the last time that the Pokes went to the islands that they shut the Warriors out?

Nope. 66-0 was in 1996 and that game was in Laramie.

The last time we played the Warriors was in 1997 in Honolulu, a 35-6 rout!

Oh, they are NOT the Rainbow Warriors anymore. They're just the Warriors.

I said Warriors.

They will always be the Rainbow Warriors to me. :)

Now I patiently wait for J-Rod to come and flame me. :)

I said Warriors.

I know but I wanted to clarify things for everyone in general.

If anyone here wants to chat with Hawaii fans,....

www.sportshawaii.com/sh

is the place to go.

Just tell 'em Wyokie sent ya.

They are good fans with a great sense of humor.

Is the douchenozzel "warbow" a regular poster there Wyokie? If so, is he/she as big an asshat there as on the MWC board? That guy is the closest to a psycho bWHYu fan as I have ever seen.

warbow does visit SH from time to time. He's a regular on a Scout board called Warrior Sports Network. DO NOT go there! That place makes BYU fan boards look civil!

Me too. That is part of their culture to use the word rainbow. They should bring it back. I think that was part of June Jones culture stripping changes he made at Hawaii.

He's done a few things at his new stop that the fans at SMU don't like and are not impressed with.

I think if the MWC goes to 12 teams then Wyoming would only get to play them in Hawai'i once every 4 years.

Could end up being one of those permanent cross-over games.

Honestly I could see the MWC using the Big 12 format of....

Play all divisional opponents every year (obviously  )
Play three team from the other division for 2 years (Home-&-home)
For years 3 & 4, play the other three schools from the opposite division home & home.

That plan will save a lot of money for everyone. Plus everyone will have played all other 11 opponents home & home in a nice 4 year period.
