Hawaii @ Wyoming - GTS

Senior Day in Laramie....Pokes are a 7-point favorite against the hapless Rainbow Warriors. I know things have sucked as of late, but keep things in perspective. This is the last opportunity to see the Wyoming Cowboys play at WMS until August 30th, 2014. That's a looong time from now. Go out and support!

This is an effort game for me. Wyoming, when it plays hard, should blowout Hawaii. Hawaii is terrible, to state the obvious. BUT....The Rainbow Warriors play hard. They have not once quit all year, hence why most of their 8 losses are somewhat close losses. RB Joey Iosefa is a load and runs hard. It will take multiple guys to tackle him. Hawaii's defense makes a ton of mental mistakes, but upfront they are as big and strong as anyone in the MWC. Wyoming cannot expect to give a half-assed effort and win this game. All that said, I expect a solid Senior Day effort from the Pokes, accompanied with Hawaii keeping it close, and choking when it matters (tale of the 2013 Hawaii season)..

Hawaii - 0 - 7 - 0 - 17 - 24
Wyoming - 14 - 3 - 6 - 7 - 30

Pokes 30-24

So sorry Pokepeople, I have to be real. I don't want to be real. I want to live in dreamland. But the dream is over.
Hawaii 28, Wyoming 21.

I wrong-threaded it...

Hawaii 28 - UW 14 (only if we get our O rolling though)!
I hate doing this, but this is how I see it as well. Once their DC figures out our strategy (shouldn't be too hard) and has their d-line and o-line play "I'm stronger and bigger than you!" with ours, like every other opponent the last several weeks (their d-line is not small or weak), the game will be over.

Won't even bother trying to guess the score. My prediction: I'll leave the game in the 3rd quarter when I realize it's completely out of hand and drown my sorrows back here in Pine Bluffs so I can at least be home when I'm pissed off and hungover.

I watched that game against SDSU sat nite, and man oh man another brusing RB he's pretty good to, if we can stop him then we'll have a chance, their QB isn't very good.
if we stop the run we'll win 35-14
if not it'll be close, 35-28 we still get it done, but i'll be a late pull away

A WIN what's that

Statistically, this one is a toss up.

Hawaii's passing offense is ranked #28 in the nation, the Pokes #33
Hawaii's rushing offense is ranked #115, the Pokes #38
Hawaii's rushing defense is ranked #98, the Pokes #115
Hawaii's passing defense, yards allowed, is ranked #111, the Pokes #97
Hawaii's total defense is ranked #109, the Pokes #112
Hawaii's total offense is ranked #88, the Pokes #25

These are two bad teams. Hawaii played Fresno State close, CSU close, SJSU close (all in Aloha Stadium).....Wyoming got blown out by FSU and CSU (both of these at home), and lost a close one to SJSU on the road.

I hate to say it, but I think Wyoming has already mentally left for the holidays. Too many kids with their heads down. Hawaii gets their first win of the year on Saturday.

Hawaii - 24 Wyoming 13

Wyoming 42- Hawaii 31. Finally a defense that is almost as bad as ours. Face it Fresno and Boise had some legit defenses. When our Oline gets some push we do very well. Hope it works out that way.

Lets see:
run on 1st and 10
run on 2nd and 20
deep pass on 3rd and 22
punt.

next series
bubble screen on 1st and 10
run on 2nd and 10
swing pass on 3rd and 10
punt

next series
run on 1st and 10
bubble screen on 2nd and 2
deep outside pass on 3rd and 3 (overthrown)
punt

Send the house on every play. Iosefa is a threat, but Schroeder is the MWC's worst QB. He is no threat to do anything against the Cowboy secondary. Stack 8 in the box and go after them every play, and Wyoming wins easy.

What about UNM? Had 100+ more yards through the air than their average against us. And our DBs are getting burned badly on easy routes. Constantly.
