Wyoming's official athletic site list the War as having 29,181 seats. Before the addition of the Wildcatter Suites and the elimination of endzone seating it may have held 34,000.

Maybe with the bleachers in the endzones, otherwise it held around 32,000.

When was the last time you saw the corners of the stadium full?

I've wondered what it'd look like if we went the style of Autzen or Century Link in Seattle with rounded edges of the stadium? I think it'd at least give the appearance of being more full. Not sure how you'd do that from a construction standpoint. I'm just thinking out loud

IMHO....they should have built the suites to be the full width of the upper stands.....i see no point ih keeping that last 15ft of bleachers on either side of them

Especially since you can only see about a 1/4 of the field from there anyways.

I've sat up there - you can see the whole field. That said, I think they should have extended it.

I think the largest attendance we ever had was something like 37.5k in 1997 against CSU. It was far more than what the War could hold, so obviously they did something for that game to accomodate the larger audience.

1997 Csu game was 34,745- 1990 byu game was 34,231. Those are the two most attended games. The official capacity was listed at 33,500 for those games. I was at both of those games and it was packed elbow to elbow.

You can not see the whole field from the very top right next to the Wild Catters.
I have gone up there and sat in the top right next to the Wildcatter and all you can see is about to the 30 yard line.
Seeing only 30% of the field is a joke.

Just a guess, but maybe it had something to do with the structural design of the existing stadium and what it could/could not support. I'm no engineer, just throwing it out there.
