I don't know how to tell you guys without sounding like a cry wolf kid... but you really need to keep your eye on this kid. quarterback from near seattle. He is without a doubt interesting. We offered him first. Needless to say, if he hadn't pulled the plug on chasing the recruiting stars, and taken himself out of the rating system... he would be top 20 after this season. don't believe me?

his completion percentage, yardage, interception ratio... and qb rating... is off the charts.

his story, although different, is the struggle that uso can relate too.

notice how now espn shows no review of the player... ? that's strange

and I will leave you with his film. not your average kid. its shocking how good he is.

go coach kaglis!

one in a thousand, High School kid brought up with morals and family value. It's good to see they still exist in the world today would definitely be cool to see him in B&G.

Looks like a good person which is most important. He also looks like he can play football. I like his accuracy on some of the deeper throws.

I know our Business School is solid, but I wished it ranked higher (lots of kids put faith in the rankings). Hopefully he comes for a visit and the UW faculty can demonstrate to him the quality of our Business program.

Give him a tour of the business building, then take him over to the gorgeous gateway center, then send him home with some renderings of the new HATC. Boom! Commitment.

So, its my night off work. wanted to bring some thoughts after watching his tape over and over. I will tell you, I do not know this kid, not trying to endorse anybody. Just some thoughts from a quarterback about another quarterback. before I start about his fundamentals, I will admit that my first diagnosis of qbs on this board was between brett smith and adam pittser. I liked them both for different reasons. Pittser never turned out, and in hindsight I am glad he didn't, because we got three amazing storied years from brett. I was correct about adam's form and throwing motion. and I think I also said that he might not have the brain for the job... basically that pittser had more going right for him... except his brain. which brett showed was the most important aspect.

anyway... im bored and wanted to brake down a recruit. Not even a cowboy. But god I hope he is.

impressions:

-recruits with stories matter. they may not be the best in the class, or the starter. But kids with a story make the general fan base connect. Its extremely important to any profession. Build your business around quality individuals that others can relate and emulate.
-his name is Harley. I don't care how good you are... you deserve a roster spot on a Wyoming team. period.
-his gpa, and general outlook (future goals) are impressive.

so now on to the nuts and bolts.

negatives first: these things can all be improved and are not deal breakers

- hes a silent leader... maybe im wrong, but from what I have read he hasn't really led with his voice. you absolutely have too. on the field, no timeouts, 40 yards to go, the qb has to be able to articulate a plan in the huddle "if you catch this and don't get out of bounds... get to the line of scrimmage and hike the ball when I tap."
- not a blazing runner. whats strange to me is that he is listed as a prostyle qb... but in his hightlights I only saw shotgun snap. that's kinda scary. a big hurdle... but not worthy of not recruiting.
- not sold on his velocity. can work on arm strength.

Positives:

- stats. he gets it done everywhere. but none more important than the win/loss
- 3 interceptions last year. that's crazy! the bramlets could have thrown 3 interceptions in the first quarter.
- footwork. this is my last point that I wanted to get to, and the whole reason I made this extra post.

watch the film again. pay attention to his feet. his pocket awareness and hop step look like payton manning. his right foot... or the leg he plants during delivery is really good. this is what makes him so accurate. some plays he hesitates the planting of his foot as he is adjusting his read. my jaw kinda hit the floor when I saw that... and I happened more than once. his trail leg or follow through leg is spot on. he drags his foot, his balance is perfect. his quarterback coach has to really feel pretty damn proud of the mechanics that he taught him.

he is a college ready qb.
