Gutwrenching!

As a diehard fan for over 44 yrs, this situation is so hard to take. Listening to Burman, he is not going to make a change but going to ride it out. That is why this is so hard to take.

I could say that, fine, I don't care anymore but I do. It just eats my guts up that we are going to continue to lose and nothing is going to change. We have seen Schroyer coach and recruit and I have absolutely zero confidence in the man. I can actually say for the first time ever that I truely have no hope. When the boys walk out on the court, I root but it is like, what difference is it going to make. I mean its great that they are good kids and their grades are up but what about the basketball side of things. I give to the CJC to help the sports programs. I think its great that the grades are up but so are the regular students that attend UW and they don't play basketball. I do not see that the program is going to get better for a long time! God that is frustrating and hard to take!

Does anybody really, really, truthfully believe that this team and coaching staff can get better? I know there are some that hope it will but do you really believe it? Please don't tell me that... wait until next year, crap.

He had his chances, and his own team to prove that he could win. He played a horribly weak schedule and has still lossed. He has lost players all over the place. I just don't see it getting any better and there is nothing we can do about it because we are going to ride it out.

This program is a train wreck. SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING!!!!! God, this is hard to take!!!

Well, a couple small positives are that Jackson, other that outside shots, is a good player, and Waddell should be back up to full health next yeat. Other than that though...

Obviously, like he will listen. I think that he and Schroyer are way too close. Look, it is set in stone that Schroyer is here until next year. I don't see how we improve over everyone else in the conference because they don't lose anybody either so I think we are going to have to sit back and take our lumps. I just truely hope that our program doesn't get too beat up and too low that we don't recover for 8 - 10 yrs. But I have a feeling that it might!

While this year is bad, there is no reason to think we can't improve next year. First, we have to get a couple JC guys in here. One that can shoot lights out and one that can rebound. Then, we have to hope Afam mends well and comes back with more of a team vs I mentality. The guy can score and will be a big help next year. Lastly, we need our core of freshman to improve. Jackson needs to shoot a little better, M'Baye needs to play in control more often, and Buoedo needs to improve his handling skills and not be afraid to shoot it.

As of right now, we are playing 2 1/2 guys who played at all last year. One of those is Dermody and Waddell is hurting right now. We are a better team when Waddell is 100%. Who we bring in will be key, but in order to improve, we need some instant impact guys.

Sure the other teams don't lose much next year, but most teams lose key players. In two years, they will lose more key players and we will only be losing Thiam.

No need to beat a dead horse and there is also no need to think things can't get better.

SERIOUSLY!!!!! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? ARE YOU WATCHING THE GAME TONIGHT? THIS IS THE WORST, AND I MEAN THE WORST TEAM THAT WYOMING HAS EVER PUT ON THE FLOOR!!!!! PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ARSE AND TAKE THE BROWN AND GOLD GLASSES OFF AND COME TO REALITY. WITH THIS COACHING STAFF, WYOMING WILL NOT RECOVER FOR WELL OVER 4 YEARS.

Could not agree more! Since I have followed Wyoming basketball (since about 1990), there has never been a team anywhere close to this bad. I honestly think we will lose to Air Force in the pig-tail game.

Which will most likely make them 0-3 to AFA this season :brick:

Schroyer has to be shown the door. It does us no good on this board talking shit about our players. Shroyer sucks it is not their fault the guy cannot coach a lick. Remember, some of these guys are still young men and they do not need us on here telling them that they suck dick. It is not cool and not their fault they have the worst coach in America. I have been watching Cowboy BBall since I was 5 years old and I remember my family going and watching Garnett play Georgetown in the NCAA tournament. I wish those days will come back but constantly trashing teenagers and young men is not a remedy. First order of business is to get rid of Burman he brought his butt buddy into our lives and scheduled the worst schedule in the country last year so his lover Schroyer could look good to the blind and ignorant administrators. 19 wins against the school of the blind and I believe we played a fucking cooking school! For fuck sakes! What fucking next are we going to schedule the mighty Little Snake River Rattlers. Then the fucking dipshit Burman gives this Jackass a fucking extension. We need to take our blinders off and look at the real cause of the problem and it is Burman not Schroyer because he never should have been hired in the first place. I understand we have some players on our team which would not start on some High School teams I have seen recently but it does them no good smearing there name and telling them they fucking suck. Lets keep our criticism to the asshole and dipshit AD that started this fucking mess.

So lemme get this straight... To get better all we need to do is:

1. Get a JC guy that can shoot lights out
2. Get a JC guy that can rebound
3. Hope Afam gets better
4. Hope Afam gets a team mentality
5. Get Jackson to improve
6. Get M'Baye to improve and play in control
7. Get Buoedo to improve

From what I have seen of this coaching staff, I think we might be able to count points 1 through.... well, 7 off the list.

At this point, let's say you're an in demand sharp shooter from California Community College. Why, oh why would you come play in Wyoming? Because the program is last in the league and "it's only up from here!" Because the coaching staff that took us from the upper half of the conference when they took over to now being consistently at the bottom is asking you to come play for them? This is what everyone is talking about when they say we'll have to recover from this coaching mess. Wyoming is a tough school to recruit to already, add in an incompetent coaching staff and a bottom of the barrel schedule/record and you're not going to be drawing many super stars for the next many years.

Oh, and as far as the coaches developing players, we've seen how well they do at that... Like you said, only 2.5 guys even played last year and this is Schroyer's 3rd year???? ...

Well said.

Even a half shitty coach would have taken this team (including Manzano & Davis) with the schedule the way it was set up, to 20 - 22 wins.

Yes, I watched the game. My post above was prior to the game, but nothing has changed for me. We played like shit at time and played well at times. We went down early by 8, but only lost by 20 in the Pit to the #12 ranked team. We have been decimated by injuries, but still managed to play well enough not to get blown out. Even when we went down by 30, we didn't give up.....and that is in front of 17,000 with 3 true freshman playing a majority of the minutes. Waddell isn't close to 100% and the only upperclassmen worth a damn is Thiam. This team has players to build around, now let's see if we can add the pieces needed to compete for conference titles.

My point is, we can hope to get better next year or we can cry in our pillows and call others names on a message board (that is some tough talk there). Or, we can hope we are even worse next year so Heath will be fired. He won't be fired at the end of this season, so I'm hoping we do get better next year. It is better than the alternative of being a whiny bitch.

We've had more experienced teams lose by a hell of a lot more in the Pit. And that was against New Mexico teams that aren't currently ranked #12 in the nation. For crap sake, we had one guy play last year that played the entire year last year...only one and he isn't close to 100%. Thiam and Dermody were the only other two guys to play last year and they didn't play full seasons. This year is toast, but some of our young guys are getting better. This doens't have to be all doom and gloom if you use a little common sense.

I dont' get why the same games spout the same shit after we lose. We get it the first time.

Sure! Because those guys are sooo good. They didn't want to be Pokes so see ya.

They weren't good...they were ok. But for shitz sake...did they get developed, coached, etc? Could Manzano or Davis been good Cowboy players? Who knows. The real deal is...Heath has lost (either by quitting or shown the door) HOW MANY players over his 2 1/2 year tenure...11, or 12? That says something. The local McDonalds manager doesn't have that kind of turnover.

Well, I am a bit confused there as well. I didn't expect a win last night. None of us should have...it is what it damn well is. Why bitch about a foregone conclusion, right Jimmy?

The team has 4 games left (BYU, at Utah, AFA, and at UNLV). I don't expect a win in any of those. I am holding out all hope for a win against the flyboys...but wouldn't be suprised if they beat us (again).

You won't read me bitching about the losses either...they are afterall my expectations! And as far as the MWC tournament...at least the T&M serves booze & beer, and at least we have the Cowgirls.

Third worst lost by the pokes in the pit during the Mtn West conference era. 2nd worst was last year by 26. The biggest lost was by 45 in Shroyer's first year. On the bright side he has improved year to year maybe next year we may only lose by 15 :thumb:

Not to burst any bubbles about whether we lost by 20 or 30 or whatever last night, if you watched the game, with about 9 min left in the game and it was around 30 points that we were down, N Mex had 5 guys in that most of them don't even avg 10 minutes a game. (the bench) We had Jackson, Luster, Waddell, Thiam and Dermody in when the horn sounded and we were still down by 22. Not to beat a dead and I mean DEAD horse but that game could have been a beating by 40.
