I'll send the pic when I get home from work.

Of course I represented! I even stayed sober in it. LOL

I know it's tempting to look at the results from last years game against SJSU to judge how UND will do against the Pokes, but I don't think that would be wise. That was the first game with a new coach and a totally different offense. Our OL who basically hadn't been asked to run block since highschool was horrible as were our WRs. UNDs OL will look and play totally different this year and may now be a strength of the team. Out WRs have also been upgraded big time. We have a couple new transfers and a walk on stepped up midway through the season to lead the team in receptions. We're not going to blow the top off of your defense by any means, but we will be able to actually pass the ball for a first down now and again, unlike against SJSU. As with a lot of teams out offense will come down to what we get at QB. It will come down to Jr Joe Mollberg who torn his Achilles last season and true SO Keaton Studsrud who won his last two starts after getting yanked from the scout team with 4 games remaining due to multiple season ending qb injuries in the same game. If one of them can step up and be the guy we won't have the worst offense ever like we had for most of last season. Late in the year, after our OL gelled and got used to run blocking, we really pounded the rock but we could never really pass the ball.

As for our defense, the loss of our "B1G NG transfer" does hurt but not THAT bad. He wasn't a starter until an injury and we have other good DL. We had two stud trfr DEs last season who have both added 20+ lbs over the winter. We've also added depth at NG with a beast that redshirted and a transfer DE. Our LBs are loaded and very athletic. We've got 7 really good ones which should help us deal with the altitude. Corner is the big question mark this year. We have an SEC transfer but it doesn't appear that he will start. Overall it's the weakness of our d at this point. There is talent there but it's very young talent. Safety is going to be a strength. We have a SO SS Cole Reyes who is a stud and a couple of transfers that will be able to compliment him which was a problem last season. Our defense will be a lot more stout than it seems you guys think. I'm not predicting a win but I do think it will be a close game with both teams breaking in a hand full of new players at important spots.

Pokes score 15-28
UND scores 10- 25

Welcome to the board. You seem cordial. Hopefully it remains as we all voice opinion, and you are, after all, on a WY site.

The biggest question mark I have is....when will you guys get a freakin mascot.

Right? It's so weird for Wyo to be opening with the North Dakota No Names.

They have a name, it's just every letter in it is silent.

I think it should be the North Dakota Off Constantly

That way, when they lose they still get the last laugh. Hey, we beat off constantly last Saturday!

What has our program come to....we are mocking FCS schools. :brick:

It comes to (has come to) what hithere said in the Stanard thread.

Calpoly comes to mind. Fucking Calpoly. And then, we have the Montana Jizz, who basically outplayed us, and should have beat us at home last season. We can take no team for granted any longer.

Appreciate the scouting report and a look at UND.

They'll always be the Fighting Sioux to me no mater what counterfeit name they are eventually given.

You have my condolences for your University becoming just one of many to suffer at the hands of the insidious political correctness movement in this country.

Ralph Engelstad continues to spin in his grave.

Long live the North Dakota FIGHTING SIOUX.

Doesn't work that way, shishi. You're the type of guy who loves treating OKLAli as those to exterminate, hold in concentration camps, march on removal trails, make reservations for, number them for allotments in hopes they stay there and treat as animals among other things. Salto.

I'd suggest that you go hug a tree tomorrow. You'll feel a lot better.

Night, hun.

P.S. Log live the Sioux - especially the fightin' kind.

At least the Fighting Sioux sounds like they are defending themselves. The Running Utes sound like they are being driven from their land.

We are so hypersensitive nowdays. Sad.

As a Minnesota Vikings fan and being 75% Norwegian (+25% Swede), I guess I am too dumb to realize I am actually being victimized by the vicious use of that nickname. Before you argue that it is not comparable, you should know that one of the two Sioux nations voted in support of the nickname, but the tribal commission of the other nation voted against supporting the logo. It required support from both tribes. So it not as black and white as you seem to be saying, when half of the Sioux population are actually in support and view the logo favorably.

The OVERWHELMING majority of all Native Americans left in the United States has expressed approval of imagery and nicknames such as; INDIANS, BRAVES, WARRIORS, CHIEFS, etc. However, let us not allow facts or myriad polls done over this issue over the years cloud the raging politically correct in this country who are hellbent on doing all they can do in order to politicize and or mislead clear thinking people with better things to do than to talk about the name of a damn football team: REDSKINS.

However, I must acknowledge, that even if the polls were not on the side of someone such as myself I would not relent or concede my ground.

Personally? I'm not intimated nor am I concerned in the least about the numberless amounts of labels those interested in marginalizing my own specific opinion concerning this subject may wish to throw my way.

In short, I consider anyone who makes such an irrelevant and grandstanding play about this outrageous issue a person who is either completely misguided -- or worse yet -- possibly in need of major psychiatric help.

Crazy got off the train 2 stops ago.

Fighting Irish sounds racist. They don't all fight!

Now that you mention the Fighting Irish, my friend, I insist they change their name as well. After all, Notre Dame Fighting Shamrocks shant insult nor demean anyone. Then again, I think we oughta check with a few leprechaun's first.

'Group think', is an awful disease to become afflicted with.

You probably don't identify as viking. A nickname is different than a mascot. Some tribes have voted to let their national race be used as a mascot for money because of being poor. Some tribes will sell merchandise at games as part of the deal to let their national race to be used as a mascot. I am not a poor. I would never do that.
A lot of indigenous persons don't know what is right about themselves because their cultures were stripped from them and replaced by a white American culture.
I'm not like that. I speak over 10 languages fluently. Four of them are indigenous to America. The languages themselves will teach you the meanings of things. The words tell you. That's one reason why it is hard for a lot of persons to understand this. They have lost their knowledge when they lost their languages, their cultures. There is a different brain concept to Indigenous persons who grew up Indigenous or mostly that way. Today it's dying out fast the way things are today.
It's really very simple. When an Indigenous person tells you what hurts his culture then listen to him. You don't have to understand it.
