Great read on Bohl & Wyoming in SI

We all knew what kind of character DC had, as funny as the AFA tirade was...it was embarrassing. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Wow.....stay classy Christensen family.

Well her dad was fired. So I can understand the animosity towards Wyoming. Is it a classy thing to do? No, but definitely understandable. This Faux Bohl thing is lame and shows that some of their fans are envious of us Wyo fans and our up and coming program.

Eh, Howdy Doody Calhoun deserved it. I won't begrudge DC for that one.

Wyoming coach Brent Vigen in the house at NDSU basketball game vs denver....nice to see him back.

This is an example of the annoying shit we don't care about that you feel like you need to inject. These coaches are Wyoming coaches now. While we wish NDSU well, we don't care about them and we don't need to know who visits one of their basketball games.

+1, but in a much nicer way lol.

Seriously, Coach Bohl and the majority of that staff that lead NDSU to 3 straight titles are no longer NDSU people. They might have a special place in their heart for NDSU and the NDSU people may have a special place in their hearts for the (former) staff, but the fact is that they are Wyo coaches.
They live in Laramie.
They work for the University of Wyoming.
They promote Brown and Gold.
They work to make Wyoming football a better team, not NDSU.

I would say thanks for the coaches but in reality they were never "yours". They just coached at the school you love. That's the business. They have no real allegiance to you, or your school, anymore. They found a better career opportunity. So they moved on.

If they have success here, the same thing could happen, and likely would happen. The difference is, in 10 years we won't be storming Nebraska boards saying how great it was to see Bohl back in Laramie for a hoops game.

No one here really cares about NDSU anymore with the exception of you LakeBison.

Dude, we get it. But an ex coach showing up at his former employer isn't news, especially for us Wyoming fans. I only speak for myself, but I don't care if he went back for a basketball game, or that he ate at Sizzler or stayed in a Holiday Inn Express. This constant banter about Bohl did this and VIgen did that is getting really old. Here's the deal. All of these guys are nothing more than temporary employees at best. They will be at Wyoming as long as they are productive, and then, in many cases, if they are too productive they move on to another school. It's happened to us at Wyoming dozens of times. It's great to have you as a Wyoming fan, but stop the BS with NDSU. We don't care.

I'm a bit of a third party in this argument. I started posting here because of Bohl, but I'm not a diehard NDSU follower.

That said, I repeatedly see things around here about what your previoius coach is doing at Utah and what he did in Laramie. Isn't that the same thing you're accusing lakesbison and other NDSU fans of doing?

I think if you read the threads you will find out most of the discussion about DC and other past coaches is limited to their performance (specifically their lack of performance) at Wyoming....that and laughing at Utah for taking Christensen as OC. Now, "what he did in Laramie" has a lot to do with what the new coach has to deal with. So yes, we will discuss DC's shortcomings in Laramie because Bohl inherited DC's mess.

But I haven't seen anyone say "Christensen was at the Jazz game and was shaking hands with all of the Ute fans," or "I saw DC at the SLC Temple....looking good Dave."

The bottom line for me, and I only speak for myself, is I could give a rat's ass about NDSU. Sorry. And Lakebison is like having DIno Costa in green/yellow....and that isn't a good thing. If he wants to talk about the Cowboys, great. If he wants to let people know Vigen was in Fargo, post it on the NDSU site. Personally, I don't care what Bohl, or Vigen or any other EX NDSU coach had for dinner, who's hand he shook back in Fargo, or what kind of car he drives. All I care about is what he is doing for my university, and thats WYOMING!!!

My rant is over. :tickedoff:

I'm inclined to agree with this. We talk about Christensen, ACS, Joe Glenn, and the like all the time. The difference, however, is that we are on a Wyo board. Not a NDSU board. It'd be like us heading over to the Utah message board to tell them Dave Christensen's favorite restaurant or to tell them that we saw Jason Thompson's ex girlfriend at the library.

If we are talking X's and O's about NDSU football, it makes perfect sense to bring it up here. We have the coaching staff. Go for it.

What they do in their free time while in Fargo.....nooooooooooooope.
