Good day in poke nation!

I knew all season long that we had the talent to play at this level...too bad it took until the last game of the season for the team to compete as a team! If they had, the season would look completely different, and this wouldn't be our last game this season...just sayin'.

This begs the question: If the Pokes could destroy the Rams as they did, what happened with the other weak teams - UNM and UNLV?

Was it lack of coaching preparation in the technical area? Did the coaches not get the players up mentally for those games? Was there a statregically different approach to the CSU game (I'll admit that I am not that technically into the detailed fine points of the game)?

The last few weeks, the offense has looked good but the defense was struggling. Yesterday, the defense looked like they knew exactly what play was called. Don't know how many times the Pokes read mis-direction and screens absolutely perfect. They just finally all did their jobs and didn't worry about having to do somebody elses job (a.k.a. deep passes as safeties/corner backs are trying to cover the run).

I honestly think we would have blown them out had the schedule been set up different. Its hard to get motivated when bowl hopes (and pretty much a successful season) are already gone. Had the PI been called in the BYU game and we go on to win, I think things turn out much differently. But its all speculation.
