I have to believe the Huskers kick themselves for letting him get away. Good for UW - the guys a beast.

Bohl said Ghiffan and Granderson look "strong". They have got to be the best DL duo in the conference. Better than Moa and that other guy from Boise.

Throw in Maluuulu, Cain, Prosser, Crall, J. Hall, Ravontae Holt, V Jones, Javarree Jackson (injured, I think) and the DL is strait up fearsome.

He is exactly the type of recruit we must target...undersized with upside. Nebraska said we will pass on a 230 pound DT, Wyoming said we will put some weight on and develop him.

A couple of years ago, Bohl was mocked here for recruiting undersized guys.

Bullshit. Unless it was you. You remind me of an ex-wife.

I recall this board being very positive when we signed Ghaifan and discussing his upside despite his size.

Haha! I don't doubt it was said by someone, but the fact that some people hold on to such statements for years on end is both hilarious and sadenning to me.

My apologies, I misremembered.

And I was referring more to Granderson's recruitment than Ghaifan's....not many here were too excited about a 185-pound DE.

Not every player can put on 80lbs. For every Carl Granderson you have an Kevin Prosser. Kevin Prosser is a great pass rusher, and he put on some weight from his 200lb freshman year. However, at 225lbs he is underweight for a line-backer let alone a defensive lineman. He hasn’t really been an every down player. There is a great advantage if you are able to recruit a player near playing weight. It is obvious that Many schools ( UW being one) that struggle finding recruits that fit that bill for certain positions ( d-line mostly). I think Bohl has done a great job developing players into nfl ready players and into NFL sizes ( Wilson, Ghaifan, and Granderson) and maybe done an even better job of plugging undersized players into roles where they can be effective ( Prosser, & Ortiz last year).

Bullshit again. This fanbase and board remembers how things work at UW. Like, for instance, Mitch Unrein in 2005 or 2006.
