Go AFA and Wyo

Next week AFA can beat CSU making sure CSU doesn't go to a bowl.
And Wyo, well, we all know.

Right now 6 teams have 6 wins:
FSU
UNLV
SDSU
USU
BSU
CSU

2 teams are 5-6:
Wyo
SJSU

BSU plays SDSU tonight. If BSU loses, then they would be one game behind USU. If they win, they are tied on top of the Mountain Division. BSU still has a game with UNM next week, and USU plays Wyoming.

There are 6 bowl games available for the MWC. For Wyoming to have a shot at any bowl other than the toilet or cereal, CSU MUST lose to AFA. Wyoming MUST beat USU. Wyoming fans also need to root for FSU to win out. If they do, and get a BCS bowl game, that means the MWC could get 7 bowl invites. If FSU stumbles - it would probably be against SJSU - Wyoming has little to no shot for a bowl game no matter what happens in Logan (since SJSU beat Wyoming - SJSU has to beat FSU or they don't get to 6-6).

Bottom line, Pokes need to take care of business in Logan and then see what happens.

I thought CSU had to win seven games as they have a thirteen game schedule?

They do. They are currently at 6-6, and only need to beat AFA to get to 7. And I really don't see AFA beating the sheep.

SJSU is not going to beat Fresno.
SJSU will finish 5-7.
Fresno should end up in a BCS Bowl.
So from the west the teams that will go bowling (minus Fresno because they SHOULD be in a BCS Bowl) are SDSU and UNLV.
Teams from the MTN that will go bowling are: Utah State, and Boise State. With CSU and Wyo needing to win next week.
Even if CSU wins and Wyo wins, that would be 6 bowls for MWC teams plus Fresno in a BCS Bowl.
We definitely need them to beat SJSU, and Boise in the title game.

But yes, Wyo just needs to win, the rest will happen on its own whether it is good for us or not.
Just win and get in.
 
And by my last count, there are less than 50 teams that are bowl eligible. And aren't there about 30 bowl games?
Even if CSU wins, Fresno loses, SJSU wins, and Wyo wins, we might go bowling. It might not be to a normal MWC Bowl, but to some random ass bowl against some team from the east.

But...just win Cowboys! Just freaking get the W in Logan!
 
I know I'm in the minority, but I just cannot believe some of you are talking 'bowl game' for a team that has given up an average of 51 points per game over the last 5 games.

The only bowl this team should be going to is the Garbage Bowl.

I am a Wyoming student and fan, so I want my team to go win a bowl game.
I don't give a fuck if they win 100-99 or 2-0.
The defense sucks, yeah we know, you don't need to keep saying it over and over, WE GET IT.

But you play to win the game. You cheer your team on.
If there is a chance we go to a bowl game, we play to go!
That's what you do.
You don't like the fact that a 6-6 team with a shitty defense could make a bowl? Don't talk about how the players don't deserve it on here, go to the NCAA and request there be fewer bowls, or even better, you go straight to coach C and the players and tell them.
You are barking up the wrong tree on here hoping Wyoming doesn't go to a bowl.

FSU only makes a BCS bowl game if they can beat Boise twice in the same season. If they lose the MWC championship game, they drop in the ratings like a rock. We still have a small shot, but all the moons have to lie up!

Boise is not the same team they were at the beginning of the year. They are much better. I don't think Fresno would get by them again. I also think we would have beat Boise if it was the 2nd or 3rd game this year.

I completely agree. Bowl eligible or not I don't want to see this team in the postseason. The outcome of that game would be the most embarrassing thing I could think of as a Pokes fan.

It's about the time of year when the "we have too many bowls" argument rears its head, and for good reason. Being an average team should NOT get you to the post season. At bare minimum your record needs to be above .500 to even be considered!
