Give Watts a Scholarship! NOW!!!

He is a walk on! His dad called DC and asked if his son could walk on! Unbelievable. That young man has been stellar this year and EXCELLED tonight. I want to read that he has been awarded a scholarship starting in the spring.

He doesn't strike the ball very well and his jab step needs some work as it's messing up his approach. I don't like the angle of his plant foot and I'm not seeing good ankle lock on the kicking foot. He needs to work on not rushing himself. I don't see quick height on the ball and I'd prefer more leg strength.

I don't understand how a football team at 7200' isn't packed with great kickers. The last guy I was coaching in high school would easily be our starter and I had him ready to walk on here but his dam dad convinced him to play at crappy UT-Chattanooga and stay in state.

he was a very solid kicker here in pa. one of the better ones in the state. the guy i felt was the best, went to temple. hes making his kicks though. and he won a game. kids got something working right

Watts isn't pretty, but he certainly is getting the job done. His kicks are slow, he is slow striking them and they seem to float through the air.

We still need a kicker with a rocket leg, and I'd be hesitant about tying down too many scholarships to kickers...but just on that kick alone he probably earned one.

Is there such thing as a walk-on coach? :)

I love the makeup of this board. Every time a position comes into question there seems to be someone who knows it really well and can explain to everyone what is going on.

Whenever the sitting on the couch position comes up - I'm the expert to explain that one. I'm also good for the stay to the end of the game no matter what position.
