The net income from a bowl game would hardly cover a buyout of Christensen, especially when you consider how high that buyout will be once his lawyer gets done negotiating the exit of a bowl-winning HC.

The New Mexico Bowl, The famous Idaho Potato's Bowl, The Toilet Bowl... any of those bowls still mean a less than successful season. When you have over half of FBS teams making a bowl game and you play in a bottom tier bowl that is not something to be real proud of.

Now don't get me wrong I would love to see The Pokes play in a a bowl game but I would also love for them to play in a bowl game that is not on the first day of bowl games.

I agree but at this point, we aren't going to a higher bowl than that, unless it's non MWC affiliated and get to play some ACC team or SEC team.

NM Bowl shouldn't be the goal, but when your options are nothing, and the NM Bowl, you should take it.

Especially, if DC gets fired anyways.

Wasn't this discussed a few years back? On the low pay-out bowl games like NM and Famous Idaho, I believe our athletic program loses money. There is a decent looking pay-out but don't we, as a program, have to purchase some absurd amount of tickets? So if we sell them all, great, but if not, we eat them. These are the two bowls and probably Vegas that can get a large amount of fans to show up. Anything further, we'll sell less tickets, meaning we lose more money.

As you probably are aware, I am all for getting rid of DC, but this scenario won't give us the cash to do it. Hopefully Fresno makes a BCS bowl game, as that's free money.

Fresno's BCS chances just took a hit today.

This thread is about as realistic as beaverpoke's yearly Wyoming to the BCS thread.

I will be pleasantly surprised if we keep the USU game within 4 TDs. USU is legit and has something called a defense. I would have liked to see USU with Keeton because then they would be a great team to face Fresno in the conference championship game.

Aside from BSU, it seems they didn't lose too much in stride (aside from the first game), as they keep doing what they've been doing.

I just hope Smith, Wick, Easton, and Miller survive, because seeing what USU did to the sheep's o-line, makes me wish we had LHS's o-line instead. Would probably get more protection.
