Geoff Grammar saying Edwards is next coach

Sounds like Jeremy is staying according to Larry's letter and Jeremy's tweets. Coach Edwards said he offered everyone their jobs.

It's a weird day. I'm not sure how I feel about all of this. It's kind of the 2nd awkward goodbye to Shyatt isn't it? Edwards sounds like a good replacement from what I'm reading on here. Hope we keep the staff and the players. I'm wondering if our style of play might change a little now and I know that has irked some people on this board. Hopefully our recruiting game picks up somehow. I wouldn't mind seeing us go for offensive boards now to tell ya the truth. Welp here we go into another new era of Poke's hoops!

I've said it elsewhere, but I think hiring Edwards is a slam dunk. I have been incredibly impressed with him as an assistant and when he's filled in for Shyatt as head coach. He has always come across as someone who's very composed and has great leadership qualities, he has a great mix of experience as a player and as an assistant, and he's a young-ish coach who seems to relate to college kids. The players (current and former) who are burning up Twitter to endorse him as the choice speaks volumes to me. Burman is correct when he says if Wyoming didn't hire him, someone else was going to. I really think we're in good hands with him at the helm.

I also think that for people who are disappointed that Shyatt didn't truly fulfill his vow to get Wyoming back on top, I think that stabilizing the program to the point where we can promote a quality assistant from within is part of that. Even without him running the program, his legacy is going to extend beyond this year as his players and staff continue what he started. I think we'll be back here sooner than later pounding the drum to get Edwards paid so that we don't lose him to a high major program.

So who is Edwards going to hire... Says he wants an assistant from cold weather States to help recruiting. Wonder if he hires from this area or Chicago area or further east. Any thoughts, who do u guys like or find curious?

Anthony Stewart has to be a priority if you ask me!

What are the odds assistant salary pool goes up? If the money is there, might as well spend it in a useful way.

The feeling I got from that tweet was more East Coast than Denver. He's from Miami and played/coached in Kentucky and Virginia.

He seems to have mid western ties. Recruited Desmat Jackson. Wasn't he from Indiana/Ohio somewhere? And increasing the chances of landing his son couldn't hurt. The only negative I can think of is his connection with Schroyer. He seems to be a great recruiter though from the area we want to get into with the bonus of a son that we want. So I definitely think we should look hard at him.
