Game week WYO vs USU

Welcome to game week. I am very glad that this game has some meaning. I wish it meant more in both sides though.

Your offense is putting up big numbers, our defense is holding teams. This makes for an intriguing battle. Our offense is struggling to move the ball with so any starters out (QB, RB, TE, G, and now WR). We are missing a lot of our established fire power. Yesterday we had some crazy wind swirling around and it is tough to say what the cause is/was. I think or play book has been cut back and people are challenging a Freshman QB to win the game.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and travel safe for the game on Saturday.

I'd say there is plenty of reason for both teams to win this game.
Is it Alabama-Auburn where the winner goes to the SEC title game? No.
But, USU wins, they go to the MWC title game, Wyo wins, they go to a bowl game.

A depleted USU offense is what Wyo needs. I don't cheer for the injury, but if Chuckie were playing in this game, wyo would have no choice.

I can't wait to be in Logan next saturday for the game!

Not trying to be a dick, but in some short reading of this board I'm not certain that many of you want to win this game. I fully admit to not knowing the full dynamics of all the parties and the histories of particular posters.

Well the deal here is, that we all want a new coach. We are tied of Dave Christensen.
But some believe that if we win this game, and do go bowling, coach DC will get another year, instead of firing him now.
So they want Wyoming to lose.
But others like me, and you know, real fans, are still cheering for Wyoming to win. Regardless of the coach, we just want to win.

I want Wyo to win, even though USU will likely beat us by 21.
It's been a testing time here on Wyonation, but we know who the real fans are, and the ones that are cheering for us to lose.

And there are many more than are cheering for Wyo to win, just a few that are hoping we lose. They just happen to be louder than most.

DC will not be fired. I've said this all year. If we went 1-11 maybe. So keeping up the "fire DC" mantra gets old. It will be evaluated at end of year. 5-7 will keep him for Brett's senior year.

I was hoping that our offense could score on good defenses but has shown that it cannot. We are a mediocre defense away from beating the teams we are suppose to beat. CSU, Texas st were huge disappointments. Thought we'd handle San Jose. Thought 8-5 was a given.

We need a true defensive mind as a coordinator

I totally agree.
Hell even if we beat SJSU, we would be 6-5, with a chance to go 7-5, then win a bowl to be 8-5.

SJSU was a really bad one. Had the game in our hands.

I'm glad usu is in mwc but part of me liked the wac thing. Didn't compete with pokes that way. I loved going to usu for college. I live 60 min from Logan now. I follow usu closely and I can't see wy winning this game. Usu is well coached and they will be ready for no let down.

I need to figure out how to get the entire defense for usu some explosive diarrhea on Saturday morning.

If USU can shut out CSU with a depleted roster, how can they even THINK about losing to Wyoming? Unless they suit up the cheerleaders to make it even. No, even if the USU players load up on beer (it's only 4% in Utah) for breakfast it will probably be a long day for the Pokes (Unless Dave gets sick and has to stay in Laramie - then ther's a chance)

Don't mind B-bopPoke, he's just seriously wet behind the ears still. His optimism, at first, seems kind of endearing, but then you realize how uninformed and groundless it is and that he's the guy who skips the job interview to fill out Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes entries. He seems to think that fans who are critical in any way are "cheering for us to lose" and that no real fan would ever be critical of the people who've brought their beloved program to such a low place.

That being said- it's true that our offense is nothing you want to turn your back on. If they get to clicking, this game could turn into a shoot-out. However, whenever we've faced a winning defense, the points simply don't come. If that happens, we're pretty much screwed, because y'all will score on our defense more than Charlie Sheen with a kilo at a rehab clinic for nymphomaniacs.

I'll be at the game, not just because I'm a masochistic bastard, but also because I love my team and want to see the seniors out in their last game, as well as take the chance that, just maybe, we pull off a truly great win against a great Utah State team.

GO 'POKES!!!

Seriously boys-thats how she's done! ;)

Yesterday the USU schedule on their website had "Dec 7 - MWC Championship @ TBD" on there. It is gone today. Maybe USU will overlook the pokes? Wells is a great coach though. I can't see them having a let down. But, still, kind of interesting to see the schedule.
