Did I hear correctly that he picked the Cowboys to lose? I don't have access to the paper and the internet site isn't showing picks..... I will be quite aggravated if he did pick against us. If he picks us to lose to the Griz is there a team this year he'll pick for us?

I agree Oredigger. He should pick who he thinks will win. His job is to be a journalist not a published fan of the home team

I would want the hometown guy to know that while we were down the last few years, we have more team talent than the opponent as well as a better coaching staff and would be able to give them the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. I'm not saying the Griz can't/won't win, but we have seen nothing so far to be pessimistic of Bohl and his Cowboys. This will be a completely different team than the one fielded the last 4 seasons. This team deserves the support of the state regardless of their past failures.

I think we'll all be impressed come saturday afternoon

That's your opinion. While I tend to agree with it, that does not mean it is fact nor up for debate. We have seen nothing on the field to date and anyone picking Montana would be more than justified. I don't want a homer for a journalist (which Gags tends to be). I want an objective assessment. If I wanted a homer opinion, I would listen to myself before the start of every season.

Anyone that thinks that Gagliardi is a homer is completely wrong. He's never taken a chance in picking the home team, even if we're supposed to win. In fact, it frustrates the hell out of me for some reason.

We have a new coaching staff, new system, new quarterback... I'm going to let Bohl and the team off the hook if it doesn't happen. My expectations are creeping up, but I remember all too well that bad feeling I had before the Texas State game - not to mention after.

At least my expectation aren't nearly as high this time around, and I did my best to be cautiously optimistic with that one.

My bad, I forgot about our established running back Craig Bohl. Based on his performance in other years for the Wyoming Cowboys under a similar offense with mostly the same players, he will likely rush for 147 yards and total 3 TDs out of the back field. It is clear now and all of the objective evidence says so.

What objective evidence do you have to say Wyoming is going to get beat? There isn't evidence to support either side. We could get beat at home by a FCS school or we could beat them by 3 touchdowns. There is no track record of either. The only track record we have to say that we have a good shot is that Wyoming is 13-0 against Montana, Bohl knows them quite well and has had success against them, Coach Bohl was arguably the best coach on the market last offseason and we landed him, CDC knew how to recruit talent, Bohl knows how to coach the most out of his players, and were at home. There is a fair amount of evidence to say we stand a great chance at winning saturday, far more than that were going to lose.
