Gags/Holmgren....what's it going to take to start

Holmgren's twitter proves he reads this board.

"Side note: I'm sure you're all dying for a little Pokes basketball coverage. Got two stories planned for later this week. Bear with me."

FWIW I like Holmgren a lot. I thinkk he's doing a great job so far. What impresses me is he knows all sorts of stuff from last year when he wasn't even here.

Again, why is there a need to shit on the football program during what is obviously a rebuild. I love our fans, but sometimes I am perplexed by some of our posts.

Basketball is riding high....let's be happy about that and give football a couple years.

Talked to Ryan yesterday.. he said he's putting in massive hours trying to get football + basketball content out. He'll have a basketball preview out similar to his football one before the season.

But their season has barely begun...as in one practice!

They started practice on Friday and and Two a days Saturday and Sunday but your point is well taken.

I think we will be pleased with the basketball coverage from Holmgren. I get the feeling he is more of a basketball guy(not saying he doesn't care about football just loves basketball). I remember people bitching cuz he was covering basketball in the summer and not football.

BTW Gags just put out a bball article today.

I gotta say, this has been a rocky start for Holmgren - partly, or maybe mostly, due to how well Vorel, as a seasoned writer for D1 athletics, did the job.

The dead time in the summer (all sports - nothing - silence), and then the acceleration with the football coverage with some solid stories, and now the dead time being felt by the readers on the hardcourt.

As a point of clarification, App State is no longer FCS. They are a member of the Sun Belt Conference and FBS.

"Part of newsworthiness is reality. How many people are clicking on the link to find out about our new walk-on wide receiver(although he is from Cheyenne and may turn out to be one hell of a football player) when our team is 0-5 and has lost to TWO FCS schools, one of them at home?"
