Fresno/Nevada -- 5 days and 5 Million Bucks!

OK, so just last Friday these guys sign a contract stating they'd pay $5million if they leave the WAC and 5 days later they leave the WAC? That has got to be the ultimate in buyers remorse.

My take

-- Nevada has already indicated they didn't sign anything so they are OK.
-- There had to be MEGA loop holes. Why would the only two teams with any potential to ever leave the WAC agree to sign it?
-- No doubt all these talks have been happening for a long time. I doubt the MWC presidents would make a knee jerk decision to add two mediocre schools on a knee jerk.
-- If BYU really was considering moving to the WAC, this was brilliant! I don't think BYU was that serious, I think it was Karl Benson's kroneys spreading rumors trying to persuade NV and Fresno from leaving....not the other way around.

Just read a comment to ESPN's story that only the first of the 8 teams to leave the WAC would be responsible for the $5 Million fine. The first was Nevada which didn't sign the agreement. After that, it sounds like the other schools are free to go. Knew there was some way these guys didn't just drop $10 million on the WAC for a 5 day old agreement.
