Fresno at Wyoming 2/17/16

Shyatt should have went all in for a championship with Adams this year and surrounded him with capable Juco bigs or wing players. He had to have known that some of these players (starters included) were not there developmentally. I think this team will be able to contend in the conference in two years, but is this conference good at basketball? Two years to contend would be a disappointment. Actually, same goes for the football program. Do you really need a developmental program to sustain top 3 success against the teams we play?
 
How can they not miss?

And our ft shooting at critical time is going to cost us. We could have cut into this lead a lot

Tough to beat that percentage, but we are down by only six.....Good D and start making free throws, might have a chance.
 
So close, one point and can't close it out.

Josh has to take better shots he is shooting 25% from the field and 34+% from 3 point land, not good.

Well, we need to go 4-0 in the tourney or we won't even make the CBI
 
Well, at this point, I don't care what happens the last five games - win or lose, we need the team to prepare for the Tourney. We can sit here and bitch and complain about minutes per player, blah blah blah but it doesn't matter. Reality is we will be an 9 or 10 seed in the conference and have to pull of a miracle. Not unheard of, but we might have better odds on winning the PowerBall then making past the 2nd round of the tourney. If I was Shyatt, i'm not, focus on next year and figure out who the starting five is and play them as much as you can - bench agama, lol, joking. Josh hasn't looked like Josh the last couple games. Love that kids heart and only wish him the best. NBA 2nd round surprise as nobody even has him on their draft board.

Came up short. Dang it. Proud that we didn't roll over. That little guard had four dagger threes.

When that guy that was guarding Josh fouled out Josh exploded. Wish he would have fouled out three minutes sooner. Josh is one damn exciting player. Wow. I'll miss him.

JMac has turned into an above average MWC player. Awesome.

OK, so I'm going to beat the dead horse and ask why the fk does Shyatt take Naughton and James out after they play great and get hot? Why? seriously what's the reason? James and Naughton must have been +20 each last night. Guess who was on the court a lot when we were getting killed end of 1st half beginning of 2nd? Lieberman and Gorski, the two worst defenders and rebounders I've ever seen. When we were making runs who was out there? James and Naughton. It's Shyatt's own damn fault for losing so much this season.
 
Just one of those games.....Fresno shot close to 70% from the arc. That is twice what they normally shoot. You could line their guys up at practice, without anyone guarding them, and they would have a hard time shooting the same % as they did last night.

As great as Fresno shot the ball, we still had chances. I'll agree with another poster above, it doesn't matter what happens in the remaining games....it is all about the tourney at this point. And, there really isn't a team Wyoming can't beat or can't lose too. It will be that wide open.
