Freshman Impact Players?

So who do you guys think will be a diamond in the ruff as a true freshman? ( no juco players or possible transfers)

I have no clue. Hopefully a Qb will step up, but I doubt it. I heard Bohl likes to redshirt incoming freshmen, so I dont really see anyone grabbing a spot unless its a TE or FB. Otherwise most spots are filled up.

I heard at ndsu Bohl liked using 3 RB's. Think one of the freshman can work themselves in the lineup?
Well, Wick is about the only guy on the roster who has had significant playing time at runningback. May was neck and neck with him before his injury, but that still leaves the 3rd spot open. So it is possible, so long as they hold on to the ball.

That makes sense. Idk if anyone of the two freshmen's bodies are ready for a college beating. The only way I could see them playing is if they come in already having good blocking skills

I'm guessing it will be either Brinkley Jolley or Brian Hill. Jolley because we need a TE to run what the staff wants to run, and Hill because we're fairly thin in the secondary and he looks like he's ready to play.

On the roster Hill is a RB. Looks like Bohl felt he could jelp them more with the ball in his hand
I'm guessing he won't be seeing much time this year, then. Wick has got that spot locked up, and I'm sure that May is chomping at the bit to get back on the field. Hill looks like a beast, though, so it wouldn't shock me to see him get some reps.

Yes but he'll be at a big disadvantage with missing spring ball. He's gonna have to have a monster fall camp to get on the field. He is in luck being a RB, a lot of times that's the easiest position to learn.

Bohl ran two backs primarily last year with Ojuri and Crockett with each getting about 200 carries each give or take some carries. Wick and May should get those numbers this season. While Wick Is primarily a power back and a very good receiver and blocker. May is a spread back, but is athletic enough to cross over to power football. I think Tapscott should fit in well as a third back. I think Stover might get redshirted. He definitely should have been last year. I dont see a need for the incoming freshman backs to get playing time, unless there is an injury. Both need a year in the weight room and time to adjust to D1 football.
