Former UW WR coach lashes back at ESPN article...

Ron was one of the worst position coaches ever at UW. And yes, he may have been a hell of a intelligent guy (regarding book smarts), but he didn't belong coaching D1 football, and he had the personality of a pile of dog shit. And to think he was UW's recruiting coordinator for 6 years as well...puke!

First, I must say that I am not a disgruntled coach

Since Watson never attended any of our practices, I imagine she got this from her primary source, Karsten Sween, the disgruntled quarterback who was regularly benched after his redshirt freshman year because of his terrible play. That gave her a biased perspective.

Pretty childish of a coach to personally insult a player, and with this quote alone he seems like a VERY disgruntled coach. He is complaining about not being able to defend himself in the other article. Well now Sween does not have a chance to defend himself in this article.

First of all, I have no problem with Wiz's rebuttal since there were several mistruths and halftruths in the article. However, I do have a problem with him attacking Karsten, expecially when he doesn't know for sure that Karsten is the source of some of the inaccuracies. From what I remember from the ESPN article, Watson attributed things to several players, past and present. I agree Ag, that part of the editorial made Wiz sound bitter and petty.

He wants to talk about bad journalism, writing an entire article about calling another writer out could not be more unprofessional. Talk about sour grapes.

I love the comments from "CowboyJoe" at the bottom of the article...The little Whizzer stated how nobody was down on Glenn & staff after the Vegas bowl, Ole Miss, Virginia, and Tennessee, and the comment suggested he remember the poor performance in the MWC. Nicely stated.

Hey Whiz... :finger: you suck!

I thought it was a well written response...until I got to the part about Sween. Many of the former staff will be looking for, or are looking for, jobs in the coaching profession. The last thing they need is a bunch of lies hurting their credentials. That part, I have no problem with. I thought the shot at Sween was not such a good idea. Was Sween disgruntled? Probably. Was he the one who made many of the remarks in the article? I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure Wiz wasn't making that up for no reason. However, what he doesn't seem to understand is that true leaders often take blame that isn't theirs. Of course, the past 6 seasons haven't been unsuccesful solely because of the former staff and the way they ran the program. The players deserve a large chunk of that blame, but the leaders of the group should NEVER be the ones dishing that out. Especially not publicly.

Notice Wiz didn't mention John Fletcher at all..........It is way too easy just to blame Sween, and not point out there were quotes from some of the Defense as well, who were actually performing well, in there. I agree Wiz has the right to defend himself and the other coaches and I also think the ESPN article was off and didn't do Glenn and staff justice, but assuming and blaming Sween for the article was in horrible taste.

Besides, if Wiz had mentioned Fletcher, I think he would have been beaten to death with John's fire stick. (see Fletcher Facts)

Just like I posted when Glen got fired, I have that country music song rolling through my mind "Thank God and Greyhound you're gone!!"

Hey Douche Bag if you want to see an Idiot look in the mirror and I can prove it show me one post I've made about Christian because I haven't. I'me just happy that the program didn't have to go to the Vic low of five wins in three years befor a change is made.
