Former Pokes across the NFL in 1st preseason games.

Mitch Unrein had 2 tackles for Denver against SF. He isn't really fighting for a spot, as he has pretty much established himself.
Mike Purcell had 2 tackle for SF against Denver. His first professional game EVER. He is definitely trying to earn a spot on the team.
Malcolm Floyd had 1 catch for SD against Seattle. Definitely didn't play much as there is no doubt he is a starter and one of the better WRs in the NFL in terms of production.
Didn't see anything about Chris McNeil for SD.
Didn't see anything about Tashaun Gipson for Cleveland, but I wouldn't be worried about him, as he is listed as the starting FS.

Pittsburgh (Alvester), Detroit (Wendling) and J-Ville (Chris Pro) haven't played yet.

I wish there were more pro's in the NFL that played @ UW so it wasn't a big time feel good story anytime we have someone make a team.

I am willing to bet teams like Florida, Alabama, and USC all have at least 1 former player on every NFL team, and it is probably nearly impossible to keep track of all their former players.

Mike Purcell will have to beat former undrafted free agents Will Tukuafu and/or Demarcus Dobbs who have been with the 49ers for a couple years to get on the 53 man roster. The practice squad probably wont happen unless they carry two defensive linemen since the 49ers are infatuated with the UK Olympian Lawrence Okoye.

As a Steelers fan, I was pretty stoked to hear that AA got picked up. Hopefully he makes the cut! Can't wait to see him get some reps on Sunday!

From tonights games....
John Wendling didn't have any tackles. I don't think he is going to be in the NFL much longer, but hey he has still made it for quite a few years.
Chris Pro had 2 tackles for J-Ville tonight.
Korey Jones had 1 tackle for AZ against GB.

Where is Prosinski on the depth chart?

2nd @ Strong Safety.

Alvester is looking good for the Steelers.... OK run and a good job in pass protection when he stayed in... when he went out the qb needed to dump it off faster.

Alvester had 4 carries and 9 yards.
1 run was 7 yards. So outside of that 3 runs for 2 yards.
Which string of o-line was it?

No idea. I am assuming 3rd string.
I just looked up stats on ESPN.
The next few games will be interesting for the young former-Pokes, as they will get more chances and that is when we will be finding out if they make the teams or not.
Players like Unrein and Floyd and probably Chris Pro are in no danger of not making their teams but Alvester, Purcell, Kory Jones, and maybe Wendling all need to make an impact soon.

I only saw Alvesters good run at the end of the game, thanks for the stats, I was wondering how he did the rest of the game.

I think Wendling is such a special teams staple I'd be surprised if he is on the bubble... but who knows.

AA looked pretty slow at the NFL level. I hope he makes it, but he wasn't very impressive on Saturday. On the other hand, Jonathon Dwyer was absolute garbage, so AA has a chance to move up the depth chart.

AA also had a great tackle on special teams in the 4th quarter.

Not sure b/c I only saw the highlights but did Prosinski get burned for a TD in his game?
