Former byu QB arrested for cocaine

I did notice he was wearing his BYU shirt in his mug shot.

As a Mormon I don't like to see the church dragged into his personal choices but knowing byu fans and his situation with calling out Utah fans it is funny.

The mugshot of him in a BYU short is comical. The rest really isn't. Goes to show you that what we see on the outside isn't always what their lives are like.

Drug abuse is a bad deal. Hope he gets help. He has a family and everything.

I feel bad for BYU players sometimes. I also belong to the same faith what "BYU Represents" and it bothers me often. The coaches and fans lift these athletes onto pedestals that are not practical. Having them go the night before games and do church meetings and stuff. These kids are still college kids (who WILL make mistakes). They are paraded around like celebrities/role models. Sure, some are, but that burden to live up to would be pretty dang tough.

The irony of him in a mugshot in a BYU shirt, though, is...well...ironic.

Bottom line is the guy needs help, and hopefully he gets it. As bad as I dislike Y, as former competition they are still human beings. Ultimately its a sad day for his family, community and school he formerly coached.

Sorry sunshine pumpers...

I was blessed with the unfortunate event of meeting some of his family in Southern Utah (Harmony area) doing some construction. To say they were arrogant assholes would be an understatement. Max walked on water, and they loved to throw it in my face constantly.

If you want to feel bad for a drug addict (and empathize for a drug addict), pick the person that wasn't given a chance, that was neglected their entire life, that didn't have family & money, that was thrown to the streets without concern, that didn't have any support - and toss it that direction.

Right on...still sad and hope he gets help but the guy had more options than most. :twocents:

I am definitely not sunshine pumping. He is an arrogant A-hole. I never argued that. But when you see pics of his little kids and stuff, it does suck to see.

The biggest issue I see with these in you never see a sports star that leaves the sport and has a normal life. They are always in debt or they are addicted to drugs. Either it was the life style they were in during the league or the painkillers they were on and they no longer have access to.

Regardless where he played he is still a human being and it sucks to see him in this bad of shape.

Very true on the kids front...

But Coke? Homeboy hasn't hit rock bottom if that is the case. Probably good that he got caught, as it may have saved his life.

Now if it were meth...

Only reason he is in the press is because where he played. He had the silver spoon. There are so many others that came from abuse, or were homeless, or were thrown away, that deserve the do-over more than this prick.

I'd be willing to bet everyone that has gone through a hard time and was involved in theft and drugs are in a paper somewhere. It's local to me so I saw it pretty quick I just didn't care enough to post about it and didn't think anyone else would.

Wonder if he wore his school (won't mention the name) shirt into the store to steal stuff because he thought no one would question his integrity.

Hall had a long history of concussion problems, wonder if that will works its way into this story before it's over.

He had coke on him. He was caught stealing a spoon and a lighter.

Coke+spoon+lighter=Crack.

not crack, jesus. Shooting coke is not the same as doing crack.
