For those of you who care so much about recruiting...

some people are just pigskin prognosticators i guess, it's ok, football will come soon enough, this day really doesn't do much for me until we see the true results on the field!!!

This is the football forum, though. I honestly care less about our basketball team than our cross country skiing team... so... less than zero. :)
 
Beaver, should we not discuss signing day? Come on man, the bball team has a big game tonight but signing day should get some clicks. It's an exciting day

I kinda feel the same way. Only time I get thrilled for our basketball team is if they are in the NIT or the NCAA. Otherwise, who cares. :roll:

And this is the reason there is only 5k people at the bball games. not bashing you at all Wyokie...but it is the general culture towards bball right now because we have put a horrible product on the court. This is the FIRST year in a long time I have been proud of the way our boys play the game. Papa Shy is getting it done...it's been fun to watch them this year.

Just figured I'd make things clear too. I don't care about our basketball team because I simply can't stand the sport itself. :)
 
My fanhood for Wyoming football is the same as Nebraska basketball: tied to the coaches. I have no allegiances to the school itself, so I don't feel bad only following one of the teams.

My allegiances are to my alma mater (Division II Southwest Minnesota State) and the University of Minnesota. I don't have enough time to follow anyone else completely.
 
Signing day is always a big deal for fans of FBS schools.....last major football event before spring ball, and then after that.....nothing 4 months! Nothing wrong with paying close attention.

So how are you connected to Bohl or staff? *forgive my lack of research as my time is limited but you didn't go to NDSU...etc?

Obviously, this part of wyonation is a football forum, but the reason I posted it over here is because that is where all the people camp out, because most of them don't give two shits about our basketball team.
Annddd it's fans like you guys that show why our fanbase sucks.

+1 I am tired of hearing about how our fans will come out and support a winner. We have a winning basketball team and I don't see any support come to the AA, we had a team that was actually in the running for the conference title a couple years back in football and yet there was still not many fans at those games. We have a few passionate fans and travel relatively well, but overall this fanbase gets a C- at best. I love this school and love our sports teams, but I can't say the same for our fanbase, and our student section wouldn't even hold a candle to my high school.

If we actually start winning conference titles and going to the NCAAs for basketball more people would show up.

Nobody wants to root for a mediocre team....unless they like the Dallas Cowboys. :roll: :rofl:

If you really think posting about the basketball team makes a difference, then you must think saying our fanbase sucks makes a difference as well.

You're right we should be excited about a basketball team that is competitive in every game, which is something we haven't had in football. But if we really want to cheer about something, we should be posting about the wrestling team which has been our best program lately. I don't think posts on a forum means you're a good fan or fanbase. Personally, I quit posting here because I'm sick of the negativity...... and I'm super busy during basketball season, but I still catch every game I can, and support the players on twitter.
