Was that one of the loudest crowds you've been apart of in years? I went to the CU game last year and this one seemed much louder and more hostile then that.

It looks like the student section is coming into it's own. When they chanted "That was stupid" at Coleman for letting that inbounds go over his head and the full length of the court, I about lost it. That was good stough.

Hopefully, the weather is good for Saturday. I just might have to make a long trip again.

It was the loudest I have seen, I was out of town last year for both CU and BSU which I heard were good ones but the people I was talking to that were at both said this was a better crowd, regardless of numbers. I'd love to get a group like that back at the AA for Utah State, I feel like any students that just kinda went because they had nothing else going on or their friends were going, will be back after that game. Lets keep it rolling!

The crowd did not seem loud at all on tv, but hopefully the fans at the game were energized and the numbers can continue to grow. Can you imagine what the AA will be like when 15k get packed in there. We better hurry. This is the last season we will be able to do it before the renovations.

It was very loud in the second half especially.
And that wasn't even 7K!

It helps when there is a player who is known for his shit talking, one who disses our best/favorite player, and having our players literally turn and run over to the student section telling us to get loud! I absolutely love when Nance looks at us in the student section and puts his arms up and start waving them up and down. Same thing with Adams running over to student section all pumped up.

The games are getting fun, and loud on a consistent basis again.

The Nevada game might not have been as loud as the CU one, but it could have been, but you get the feeling that they are all going to be like this.

A win at Fresno Wednesday would be HUGE for our crowd on Saturday.

It truly was a fun hostile env't, these students are coming into their own, it was fun to raz Deonte, but we CANNOT have any let downs against a very good (don't let their record fool ya) Fresno St team, Hey students let's get some more against the Aggies next weekend, do your research on Moore and Butterfield and let's see about 9500 against Utah St....we need ya!!!!
Great win guys

To get 9000 against USU I think we got to beat Fresno, and have very nice roads.
Need a lot of people from Cheyenne and Casper to come down, because a lot of people traveling long distance won't want to stay in Laramie Saturday night as the SuperBowl is Sunday.

I hope we can get 8000. We were just shy of 7000 against Nevada.
If we get up to 8 on Saturday, good things will be happening!

good point, we gotta show Utah St, we're a force to reckon with, going to a game out there is quite an adventure..... game at a time huh...lol

The crowds are beginning to build some momentum. I will say this. I'd put our near-7000 fans against 7000 fans anywhere in terms of noise generated. That palming call against Josh at that critical juncture in the game was absolutely ridiculous. After the final heave missed for Nevada, did anyone else see Larry storm towards the refs as they exited on the west side? Probably a good thing for all that Shyatt wasn't able to catch up to them.

The "hurd" in Logan truly is the benchmark for student sections in the MWC. If you haven't experienced them, do it. It's not necessarily their passion or loudness that makes them the best, it's their organization and knowledge of the game.

I hope one day for Wyo's atmosphere to be comparable.

7,000 used to be way under average for UW. Sad we are pumped up about 7,000 - but we all know why. I unfortunately think that between Burman & Heath, some fans are simply never going to return though, regardless. That damage cannot be undone.

I went to the game UW-USU Dec. 31, 2008, it was a fun atmosphere, that arena reminds me of a glorified living room, Justin Williams had a good game but we lost it in the end....aaargh
we'll hold our own with them at Logan.....

Did he? I think by Dec. 31, 2008, Justin Williams had already made his exodus from the NBA...

You hit the nail on the head! Wasn't at the Nevada game Saturday but I am sure the noise level didn't come close to that in the earlier days of the arena. Think I probably attended every game where the attendance was 9,000 or above (and sadly many more recently where it was far lower) and that was when the noise level was so high it was impossible to hear the person sitting next to you saying anything. You are correct about "some fans are simply never going to return though,..."; I know several in Cheyenne who decided that Burman's firing of McClain after saying it was not a critical year for him and a few whose wives did not like some of the language one could hear coming from Heath during some games were reasons enough to drop their season tickets.

See on the other board some praising the renovations to the AA; frankly I am not one of them. I have always thought having the visiting team shooting into the truck ramp was more of an advantage than shooting into a background of fans (maybe it depth perception is not the problem I think it is with no real focal points to relate to). I can buy into upgrading locker rooms and maybe a few other things but the necessity for two practice floors and turning the floor and other cosmetic things doesn't impress me. For me it has always been the product on the court that brought the fans to the game and recruits wanting to be part of the program. Darn, we must have had some pretty good coaches prior to Heath to be able to win as many games as they did not having two practice floors and all! Frankly I have thought for several years that Burman keeps bringing up major projects to distract somewhat from the lack of product on the field or floor (which reflects back on his administrative abilities, or lack thereof; expect in a couple of years if the basketball attendance for men's games has not improved significantly he will be pushing for a major (several millions) upgrade to Corbett for swimming and diving (agree that it surely could use some improvement for diving especially).

Oh well, enough from an old fart who has some good memories from games at the AA.

The need for more practice space is huge. With the current setup the basketball team cannot run two full courts which is a big limitation for the coaching staff. And with that the student section is going to be brought right up to the court which will be great! the only part about the project i'm not sold on is the club area, but everything else is going to be a much needed improvement.

I guess upgrading to having arguably the best arena in this region isn't appealing to some on this board.
