After barely beating a horrendous and winless team from an Island 3250 miles away, at home, in freezing weather...I mean come on and check back in with reality.

Look it, if you want to trumpet a win (any win) then I guess I get it.

But lets maintain a semblance of perspective please?

The sunshine pumpers going ga-ga here are guilty of the same mentality that has caused Wyoming Football to become sub-mediocre driven for years and years now.

You want to get excited and have me join the party?

I need a hell of a lot more than a win against a fellow deplorable team like what happened today.

This is akin to some of you looking at a Jacksonville Jaguars fan and people in Jacksonville going bat shit crazy over a high scoring overtime win against the Minnesota Vikings.

Is today's game a step in getting this year's MWC Championship game to Laramie?

Come on now.

We beat Hawaii and allowed yet another team to ring up 50+ points for the 3rd time in 5 games.

When we lead Hawaii by 30 points at halftime in another season and on our way to our 9th win of the season -- and still have a chance to get to the MWC title game...that's when I'll shout from the mountain tops -- and buy everyone a round at your favorite pub.

I love the Pokes, yes, but please, I need much-much more than a late November game victory against a team that Cheyenne East could play with, during a second consecutive train wreck season, to satisfy my cravings.

With those pumpers of sunshine I feel you enable further, and embolden those at UW who have that 'we know who we are' mindset, asking us to be satisfied with the crumbs of a meaningless and irrelevant win that today's game was.

Now I'll get out of the 'pumped up' crowds way, so that you can continue to celebrate and continue to delude yourself into thinking this win today constituted anything more than what it did: A game between 2 dreadful teams where no matter what - there had to be a winner somehow and someway.

Back to reality.

Wyoming won didn't they?
That's what matters right?

And talk all shit you want, but you have NO argument for me being a reason Wyoming has the "good enough" mentality. Do you not realize I have the most unrealistic expectations of this team than anyone?
And it doesn't involve 6-6.

Ummm...what?

Dude, it's not like the Bows were blown out of every single game they played this year. They are winless, but have been in more games than Wyo was in our losses. They sure played Fresno a hell of a lot closer than we did.

Someone please explain to Doc how I do not need to raise my expectations of Wyoming football. That would just....not exist. Would it?

I'm very happy we won tonight - for one reason - it is much better than losing to Hawaii. Just like a few years ago when we lost to New Mexico to give them their only win of the season. I'll never wish that sort of an embarassing loss on the Pokes.

I do hope we win out and CSU loses out.

Something needs to happen this off season. I understand Christensen's mentality of the 'program doesn't change, the staff and players do.' But I think that only works at a school like Missouri. I don't think you can recruit a kid from Florida then be a jerk to him for 4/5 years and expect him to stay. Even if he does, you can't expect him to give his all every day.

I remember Joe Glenn used to call himself a motivator - not a coach. We have just the opposite here. Christensen doesn't believe in pep talks or motivation. He'll present facts and make people feel bad.

We need someone who can recruit colder states with kids from smaller communities. We need someone that understands like Lloyd Eaton did that you don't recruit south of this line if you expect the recruit to stay.

We need position coaches than understand the inn's and out's of each position and can analyze the game film and demonstrate what needs to happen in practice this week.

0-10 is 0-10.

Stop it.

I'm sorry, 0-11.

Not to my knowledge. You probably have the most "positive" (to put it lightly) expectations of any of us.

You guys are right and Doc is wrong. This was a great win over a real good team. Hell the D came out to play and the fans showed up, it was awesome. Things are looking up in Laramie.

Agreed. They only lost to Fresno by 5. CSU/SDSU 7. UNLV 2.

I feel bad for Norm Chow. I don't know if it's his decision making (like deciding to not kick a FG in OT), or what. But his team comes out ready to play, they play tough, and end up losing every single time.

Are they 1 player short on offense or defense?

Are they like we were last season with the whole "We would have X amount of wins if Brett Smith was healthy"? Are they literally just 1 or 2 guys away from being 5-5?

Good grief Dino, no one doing cartwheels. We all realize we're not world beaters, but we did win a game a lot of you naysayers were predicting we would lose. Nothing wrong with feeling good about that.

I liked it better when you just didn't show up after victories.

No Cuttslam, that isn't what we are saying.
What I am saying is, a win is a win. And it is a whole bunch better than losing to Hawaii.

Hell, hard to be mad when I just witnessed my first live OT game and watched Brett Smith set records all day!

That's what I am saying. Just enjoy it. Tomorrow, we can play sunday morning QB and look at what we did wrong, but what is wrong with enjoying it for the night?

To be fair, most recent research shows that 46 of the 50 states have indeed heard of the SHOW.

By the way, NUGGETS just put up 35 in the 1st quarter against Dallas.
