Why is it whenever several other programs start making changes to their programs facilities, we need to talk about following suit? What is it that people think we are so far behind as a program that we need to continually make upgrades?
Could it be that maybe CSU is trying to catch up to Wyoming right now?
Tell me, does Renovating the current football stadium, Adding a new top quality turf, Building the Rochelle Center with new weight lifting unit and locker rooms, Building a new indoor practice facility and Adding the Wildcatter Suites to the stadium, does that not bolster confidence in spending money for the betterment of the program? No, it's not a brand new football stadium. We do not need a brand new football stadium. Something can actually remain traditional. Besides a football stadium will not help win games.
A lot of the things I read from fans on here is so sad and ridiculous. Most times it reminds me of Obamas plan to fiscally help our debt. "Lets spend MORE to get out of debt." So we spend BILLIONS of dollars and now...Amazing, we are even more in debt. Common sense people, what was going to happen?
So far the, "We need to spend more for recruiting, spend more on better coaches, better facilities, facility upgrades, new stadiums, domes, etc., etc., etc.," It sounds so eerily similar to Obama. Where do you want to get this money. I mean, it ALL adds up. More money for recruiting, more money for coaching, a NEW Stadium. Tell me, do you finally want state taxes in Wyo? Because I guarantee the state will not allow millions of dollars for sports programs without something coming in. Politics...It's how it works, it's the reason why Wyo is one of the richest states in the union. How about ticket sales that jump up another 15.00 or more per ticket? Are you going to donate several thousand a year? All the other bigger schools do all this. You know what I would see if this actually happend... Off with the HEAD of whichever athletic director allowed ticket sales to go up? That is all we would hear about because he would need the money to pay off our new coaching staff (that everyone wanted), he would need the money to better the recruiting trail (everyone wanted), he would need money for a multi-million (close to billion) dollar new stadium (the majority seems to have wanted).
So where does it end? Complaints either way. Because some Wyo fans have trouble seeing that you work your way out of "right now" not work your way from "a dream" (program of the 50's-60's) to a "new dream"
We have been on the right track since 03. We tanked as a program in 2000, not only on the field but, we really had nothing to show for our program. Each year has brought success in some way. Yes, our record does go up and down right now, but that has nothing to do with facilities, it has everything to do with consistency. We've been building back up, one day at a time taking each step from "right now". It has been shaky, but we continually see success. Then it gets shaky and we want a NEW coaching staff, or better recruiting or better facilities. We have a brand new D-coord who has inherited a terrible D to begin with. None of the players on that field are his recruits, but, we are ready to get rid of him after 4 games. Why? Because we struggle? We were going to struggle without him being brought in anyway.
People need to remember a key word: Patience. It sucks to be patient, People chomp at the bit because they want to see results NOW and decisions are made out of haste, even if something is getting better, we lose focus. We lose our patience to much. We need to stop. Otherwise, this inconsistency is what will cause us to continue to be mediocre. No more excuses.
What is truly best for the program? Think about that with common sense in mind.
