Flag Football

I just listened to about 10 minutes going over the growing popularity of flag football. They were predicting it would grow to be a college-level sport. Obviously less popular than the real thing but I guess the growth is pretty staggering.

Are they full of it? I honestly haven't paid it any attention even when the Olympics said they'd add it.

I was browsing D3 bad offenses and came across flag football. Nothing against this guy as he reads like he would be a nice guy, it’s just an example that flag football is around. He is the tackle football teams assistant OC.

Maybe Sawful could feel right at home by hiring the #235 out of 241 offenses in D3 and get a jump on flag football where Wyoming is heading:

I anticipate it will become more popular than tackle at some point (especially at high school and college levels). Less players on the field and a cost that is a fraction of tackle. Add in decreased concussion and increased safety, seems inevitable.

It also has the advantage of that it adds another option for a women's sport for Title 9 purposes

I kinda felt the UW football team was already playing this at times this past season.

Most of the excitement is on the women's side of the game. It's highly unlikely, IMO that Flag Football will take off on the mens side unless peoples risk tolerance changes. There's a decent number of colleges committing to Women's Flag Football over the next 5 years.

Yup. Watching flag football is like watching ultimate frisbee. It’s kinda cool to watch for like 3 minutes
