Show me one other FBS coach outside of the high school coach at UNLV, that would not destroy other teams with an NFL top 10 pick and 5 other starters in the NFL. We barely made it into the MWC championship game with that kind of talent. The problems that team had are the same problems this team had. There is no creativity in the play calling, there is a shorten the game mentality and there is not a killer instinct at all. Once we get a lead Vigen takes a knee for the rest of the game.
What bothers me the most is the one-in-ten success rate of the run-up-the-middle play after BS figured it out. Especially when yardage is desperately needed. It was painful to see Valladay get stuffed so often when you just knew that run-up-the-middle had low chance of success.
Probably, if he wants to sit on the bench for a while. But it seems like the QB is looking at the play list on his wrist for each play. Has he ever looked over at the bench for a play?
