Fire Bohl!

I've sat back and watched this and other threads waiting to figure out exactly how I feel about everything but I think I need to get my thoughts out there.

No question this was the worst lost in the "history"(maybe just modern history my memeory doesn't go back past the 80's) of cowboy football. Are we at the lowest point in program history? Time will tell but I don't think so. Watching that game on saturday I could see us not winning a game this year which would put us up with VK worst seasons. We have no business losing to a FCS team. I feel like some of the same people saying not to worry about this game were the same ones who piled on DC for losing to Cal POly(I don't know that for a fact cuz Im not going to search through years old posts). At least the Cal Poly game came down to the end of the game and we were on our 3rd string qb. This game we got our asses kicked from the beginning of the game.

I am not advocating firing Bohl because that is just studpid. Even if I didn't believe in him I would have to give him 4-5 years. And I think Bohl can be successful here. But watching the game on Saturday I was reminded about my concerns I have had when we first hired this staff. Namely I am not sure the power run game can work well here(I had come around on this one but my concerns came back watching the game) and I really don't like the Tampa 2 defense. I beleive our issues are more personel than scheme but my concerns on the schemes have returned.

Our offense isn't that young really and they looked awful. I thought our o-line would be better and they absolutely sucked. Thats gonna be something hard to overcome if they don't pull it together. The team I saw on Saturday reminded me of a Joe Glenn team without a decent defense. That is a scary thought.

This is a wierd position for me cuz I have always been a "Sunshine Pumper". I have season tickets so I have put my support behind the team and I will purchase them again even if we go 0-12 but I am not sure how many more saturday's I will spend wallowing in misery sitting at the WAR if things don't improve. I've already decided I am not going over this weekend. My wife is a Minnesota Gopher fan(a cowboy first and foremost but coming from MN the gophs are a close second) and she never gets to see them live so we are gonna go down and watch them beat up on the Rams. THat will give the cowboys a couple weeks to show me something and I will be back in the stands for the next game. Lets be honest after missing one game I'll be wanting to get back to Laramie no matter the outcome. I think this team can turn it around but they need to prove it.

Sorry for the long post but had to get my thoughts out on the keyboard before they drove me crazy.

GO COWBOYS GO BOHL
Good post. I think we suck, but I'll still be there, too. Every Saturday.

Anyone starts with this 'fire-Bohl' bullshit I'm ignoring it completely...stop with the idiocy.

I'm not starting it, I just know plenty of people will be making those comments so I dug up this thread for their posting ease haha. Not sure how you posting a comment is completely ignoring it though...

Even with how angry and embarrassed I was a week ago, I thought this thread was kind of dumb and that there was no way Bohl could get fired.

However... the worst team in FBS (that isn't Wyoming, apparently) is currently blowing Wyoming out. We look even worse than a week ago. Who thinks that if we lose by an average of 4-5 TDs in every single remaining game this season that Bohl's position is actually safe?

I no longer think it is. I once again took for granted that we would at least be good enough to win this game, even if we lost the rest. We're not, though, and I'm not sure we would've been close even IF our talented quarterback had decided to slide.

Even if you did fire him... Who would want to risk their career and take this?

Today has been so bad it's not even frustrating. It's laughable.
1988 K-st? Yeah, we may look like that. But you can only move forward and only place to go is up.
Get to work Bohl.

He's on solid footing even if the Pokes go winless this season - and he should be on solid footing. We have a long way to go...that's just a fact.

I guess the last 18 seasons wasn't enough to expect improvement.

A week ago I would have agreed with you, but is there seriously no point at which even a coach in his second year should be fired based on lack of performance? You can't blame this solely on lack of personnel.

VK got 3 years before they put him out of his misery....so no way Bohl goes before 3 years is up. If he goes O-fer this year and takes a shit again next year, then I think they punt his ass. Time will tell.

Nope, you stay the course, you run the race, you build it with conviction. You don't tear down a house you just started building after 2 seasons. These are dark times for sure, but we're a really bad football team in the 2 areas where you need to be solid in order to compete - the lines on both sides of the ball. When you are shifting as many players around to new positions as we are, when you are relying on as many freshman as we are, that should tell you about the talent on this current roster...there ain't a lot of it. How about that Quarterback Josh Allen though? If he learns to not take too many hits we got ourselves a western gunslinger for the next few seasons. Bad day thus far, awful day, but I remian unmoved. In Bohl, I trust. Better days (much better) are ahead of us. We're not good...got that? We might be one of the worst teams in the country as of this day. Swallow that and maybe you'll feel a little bit better. But probably not. I understand.

You do if the foundation is shit

Yes, right now it pretty much is. That's why it's called a rebuild. In our case Bohl took over a situation that is a tear down, a total and complete reclamation project. Gonna take a few years to enjoy the fruits that go along with the labor.

I don't want his head, yet, as today being there again, the only thing I saw that improved was the running game, but those were long one's. Our D is a horrible work in progress to say the least. No FG kicker, and QBs that need to know what they are playing for, use your football IQ, U should never take on a tackler, get down or out of bounds. I remember going thru the VK years, I wasn't happy then and if this continues I won't be now. I know I may think my team is worthy of winning week in and week out, I'm a fan I'm entitled too. However realistic or not it may be. I put lots of energy rooting for my Pokes and I'm just wanting to see improvement game in and game out that's all, it's not there. I am willing to give CB time to get it done, but I wonder if he's such an awesome football mind, glimpses would be nice. Why did he really leave,NDSU for us, if he's sooo good why didn't other teams talk to him, hmmm, just a thought. Is the FBS level really that much faster/better. I'm sorry to rant but wth, i don't like the Joe Glenn 2.0 experiment so far, but we'll see, just be in games show me effort and win a few. IMO, after this rebuild if it doesn't truly work, then it may be time for Bohl AND Burman to ride off into the sunset together. Its gonna be a long painful year, C'mon Pokes
