Final score from Reno, Nevada, on Saturday...

I feel the same way as you Dino.

Getting Herron back on offense I believe will be a big deal and I think we can win in a shootout.

I've got Wyoming pulling it out

Wyoming 48
Nevada 42

All the posters above are ignoring the fact that Nevada is one of the best rushing teams in the country and the Pokes one of the worst at defensing such. So Nevada offence will be on the field a long time compared to the Poke's. That means less scoring time for the Pokes UNLESS there are some lucky long bombs. That situation doesn't happen all that often.

Nevermind that the 'Pokes have one of the best passing games in the country and UNR is nearly dead last in pass defense. First time this season they've faced a true dual-threat QB too. This one looks a bit more like the '88 AFA game to me than last year's USU game. The Aggies had a good defense last year that's become a great one this year.

It's only a shootout if our o-line steps up and becomes, if nothing else, average.

Ignoring? I'm not ignoring anything. As has already been stated Nevada's defense is terrible against the pass. Wyoming should score everytime they touch the ball. Yeah Nevada runs the ball well and Wyomings run defense sucks but I still think with everyone back healthy this week that Wyoming can probably score a touchdown pretty much everytime down the field.

Most people on this board are overrating Nevada. Nevada has not beaten anyone that is any good. Toledo is a far better team than Nevada is.

Wyoming will win this Saturday.

Nevada's D isn't exactly the poster child for penetration....

One word: Idaho.

If our d was coached up at all during our bye...we can win this and be right back in the hunt for a bowl game.

Meh. It wasn't Idaho's defense that made us look bad, it was our defense that made us look bad.

Define "look bad". Some would say the pressure they got on Smitty is embarrassing. Idaho doesn't put defensive pressure on ANYBODY. Brett took many big shots and had to create his own plays often. While the defense surely deserves the brunt of the criticism, the offensive line deserves some too. Smith is a great QB, and nobody on that line is doing him any favors.

And, up until Idaho, the line had been doing a pretty solid job against bigger, faster teams. At some point, in a one-sided program, fatigue sets in. We saw it under Glenn when the defense became demoralized by the inability of the offense to produce. They lost their motivation and looked fatigued. Against Idaho, it was flipped- the defense couldn't stop Idaho on third-and-Pocatello. Every possession we were playing catch-up, and it was all on the offense. I'd argue that if the defense had stopped two Idaho drives, our offense would have scored three more times.

They are a solid running team, but how good is the level of competition they've faced? Not ready to give the game to Nevada just yet.

Go Pokes!!
