FB players not coming back

Pittser aswell

Ouch! I expected Pittser as, he sounds like a gamer who isn't going to be happy playing second fiddle. Doctson will be a big loss (known quantity, system familiarity, etc...). Family issues just never seems to be good news. I wish em both the best.

Really surprised to see Pittser leave. I thought he would compete for the starting QB spot next season, and possibly unseat Smith. Can never have enough depth and competition at that quarterback position. Real shame to see him leave. Docston appeared to have a bright future as well. Just a bummer to lose these 2 kids.

It happens every year. The good thing is we are deep at WR and Pittser hasn't seen a down.

It sucks this happens every year, but we will be fine.

Go Pokes!!

I just don't think Doctson liked Wyoming, I heard he wasn't coming back earlier this winter break... He packed up all his stuff after the first semester...And possibly Roberston is leaving after this year or this semester...

Damn! I hate to lose Pittser. I really felt like he was the long-term answer at QB. His arm strength was so beyond everyone. I hope DC can figure out a way to keep him and open that QB job up.

I think Pittser should have waited to see what spring and fall camps brought, he could have challenged for the starting job..

Doctson though, big loss, but at least we're fairly deep at WR.. plus it looks like this Trent Sewell who's coming in as a recruit could have an impact for us.

Pittser really hurts, he was very well regarded coming in and his arm strength is something that even the most ardent Smith fans have to admit he lacks. I love Brett but I saw enough woefully underthrown deep balls this season (and plenty more that weren't thrown at all) to wonder what Pittser could do if given the chance to compete for the starting gig.

My thoughts put on the page before I could let them come out of my fingers

WTF......You'd think after a respectable season, these players(minus Pittser) would be thrilled going forward. I guess Laramie isn't for everyone.

Are you saying that Hawaii never has kids that get homesick and transfer?

EVERY school has this problem. Austin Haywood, the TE for OU down here, is transferring to Central Arkansas.

Well....no matter how you slice it...losing Pittser is going to hurt us bad in 2012 and beyond. By why leave?

If you recall my post earlier in the season (Pittser to Transfer) I'm not at all surprised if he has left. I feel he was never given a fair chance to play. It appears this staff has a hard time holding on to QB's. Having said that, I can't imagine that any of us are disappointed in Smith's first year. But we might want to cut back on the designed run plays until we get a quality backup.

Doctson surprises me. Although he seems to have the quality to catch on anywhere, a red shirt year might break his momentum. Plus he was given a chance and capitalized on it. Hopefully this will create a chance for T.J. Smith to get more playing time. I read a post a while ago on this or another site that said a handful of Texas players would be leaving. Hopefully this isn't the start of it.

If you don't want to play here then bye. People will step up and fill the roles (Chris coming back healthy, Sewell coming in, Rob's chance for redemption, Rufran with a year of exp under his belt, etc. etc.). Brett has the QB role and wouldn't have let it go (MW Freshman of the year, Freshman All-American, Records, etc. etc.). Glad he is going to be able to get rid of the gloves, it was obviously affecting his throwing motion. Excited for the new year and new season. Go Pokes!

More than Doctson have left. It also appears that Robertson and CJ Morgan are gone, and Jonathan Aiken was ruled academically ineligible and won't be back. Then I saw someone else tweet and say that Julian Hawkins, Brandon James, Luke Knapton, and Helamana Semo are gone as well.

We did have 3 mid-season additions, OT Connor Rains, P Tim Gleeson, and WR Eric Nzeocha.
