Leach's Air Raid will always have a place in my heart.. though, no one really runs it successfully. It's easy to pound on crappy teams because the secondary/backers can't keep up w/ receivers, and the DL generally lacks the push to get to the QB. If you watched the Apple Cup tonight Wazzu had a lot of trouble keeping their QB upright and UWs secondary ate up Halliday. All of these offenses have their flaws.. I think the Air Raid is the best to get points back in a hurry if you're in a hole. I love the triple option but you have to have a lead and keep it, it's hard to come back from behind.

Ahh yeah.. him. I saw them nearly get beat by Montana State..

And they got beat today, 34-0 by Houston. 1st time in June Jones' coaching career his team got shutout!

Pistol is the offense I run. I run several different formations giving my team a 50/50 run to pass.
It's extremely easy to disguise a run, pass or even QB option read. If run effectively the defense doesn't even know what is coming next. Not to mention I run triple and quadruple option out of the Pistol. I also can go one back, air raid in the pistol. I've even run a Pistol Spread formation.
The one thing I do not like about our spread at WYO is you cannot disguise an outright run play. Other than the option read, when Wick gets the ball the D seems to know the route and holes he can take. And it is him generally trying to get to the outside.

I like option, but it is extremely one deminsional and takes away from the pass.

Big fan of the spread offense, similar to what we run when it is going well as well as the current Denver Broncos offense.

Pro/Power run. I love being able to control the tempo of the game and it can wear down a defense with its time consuming long drives. It also keeps the other offense off the field which is another positive if you're facing an offense that scores quickly and plays fast.

Denver currently run the Peyton'n Shoot.

Does anyone use the Run N Shoot anymore? Spurrier did at Florida, I think..
The true run and shoot is no longer used. The concepts of the run n shoot are used in all kinds of offenses, specifically pro style offense like the Broncos run. The Choice and Go routes are staples of the run n shoot that have been worked into all kinds of offense, even the spread.

Florida never used run n shoot routes. They used vertical routes to stretch the field and seam routes to spread out the secondary if they played deeper zones. Spurriers offense was known as the "fun n gun"

Ive noticed that about our run game also. The defense can see exactly where the play is going and most teams just push our line down into the hole causing a lump of bodies where the hole is supposed to be. It really doesnt utilize the quick, powerful burst that Wick has. When they pull the tight end towards the play I always see a nice hole and the run usually works, but our zone blocking scheme is too slow for quick defenses.
