Hey it's already game day again and we get the pleasure of watching this awesome squad again. I think a game like this one is really important to keep the foot on the gas pedal. I really want us to bury this team fast so we can rest our starters and get valuable minutes to the guys on bench. Maybe even try out some different lineup combos to help for further cohesiveness throughout the squad. For a team this caliber every game needs to be used as a tool for improvement and show the nation what we're about. That's what top 25 teams do.

GO POKES!

I love that Shyatt scheduled all these games so close together. It feels like we're playing every-other day

Agreed. It really keeps the excitement rolling for us fans. Let's the team stay fresh in everyone's mind. :thumb:

Also another big advantage of this dynamite schedule is we head into Cal having already played 2 more games then them. Just more time to gel heading into what might be our biggest OOC game of the year. This schedule was really well thought out. I'm sure they knew better then us what kind of team they had on their hands this year and how to play it.

Hopefully, the starters will make quick work of FAMU. Want to see lots of court time for Lieberman, Barnes, Herndon, McManamen, Sellers. Give Jack some PT, too, for all the hard work he's put in as a Poke.

This would be an ideal game to mix in ALL bench players with some starters throughout the game.

Agree. I was hoping we could get Gorski some run, too.

Shyatt mentioned on the 20th that Aka Gorski would be back by the 24th or 25th. Could he play a little tonight? Both Aka Gorski and Washington could be back for Stetson, it sounds like.

Back playing or back able to practice?

I'm worried that Gorski will take time away from McMan, though. I never thought McM would amount to much, but wow he's looked good this year!

I'm assuming by Shyatt's comments that they'll be physically able to see some game action.

Honestly the more competition for spots the better. We need this team to be pushing themselves the whole way this season. The higher level they compete against each other in practice will only benefit everyone on the team. That kind of environment really only makes it easier for others to step in and contribute as well. Come conference you never know what kind of battles you'll get into. Some games you need to get more quality minutes out of the unlikely sources if you run into some mismatches.

FAMU - 0-4 coming into this game.

Leading scorer is Ruttley at 12.8 per game. He also leads the team in rebounds at 6.3 per game and assists at 1.5 per game. FAMU is 347th in the nation in scoring (49.0 per game), 299th in rebounding (31 per game), 336th in assists (7.8 per game) and 323rd in field goal percentage (.361). The Cowboys need to put these guys away early, then sit the starters and get the bench some quality playing time. Take care of business Pokes!!

I don't think this is going to happen (early, that is). Pokes come out with AP votes and hard-ons, thinking they are way too good for FAMU. But they get the picture and perform second half.

I don't feel like a Shyatt run team is going to put teams away early like that, He is going to run the slow paced offense eat the clock up and get all the younger guys time on the floor. Which finally is a good thing that we have depth to have people on the floor other than starters.

How bad is FAMU? When you go to their website, they don't even have anything posted from their last two games. Their last posting was eight days ago. That's unacceptable for a Division I institution imo.
