Fall camp

I wait for the 7220sports.com( it is free) review of things now since practices are closed. I think Bohl talks to the media again on Monday.

I definitely get why Bohl closes practices, but it would be nice if he opened a few of them up. It's always nice to read several different takes on things like the scrimmage. Google search Wyoming Football Scrimmage in the past week and several stories analyzing csu's scrimmage pop up :x

From 7220, Bohl is saying the QB position race is tight. Said Chambers did "some good things" and made "a couple of nice plays", but wasn't as consistent as he had been at camp. Levi did "some good things" and that Levi was more consistent in the scrimmage. I dunno, sounds like they are making the same sort of incremental improvement. Here is to hoping that is a big step up in the passing game. I am just ready to see it on the field one way or the other.

I'm still in see it to believe it mode. I can't really take Bohl at his word either, he pretty much says the same things every year before the season.

It'd be nice to know some stats. My biggest concern is that we don't have a QB on the roster that can throw the ball. I love Chambers' fight and I understand his record, but the kid hasn't been able to throw the ball. You can yell record at me until you are blue in the face, but, unless we have a functional passing game, the next step won't happen.

I guess we'll see opening day, but I'm a lot less certain the passing game takes a step forward after reading Bohl's comments.

With any luck....it will turn out that Vigen, not individual QB ability, is the overriding variable. I still share your concern though.

Yeah. We've got two QBs that complete less than 50% of their passes duking it out. Both are really good runners and in Sean's case excellent. I want to delude myself into thinking we'll see an average passing attack, but I've got to temper my expectations or else I'll probably going to be disappointed. The run game and defense should still be nasty, though.

I hear you. I am trying to thread the needle between having some good positive thoughts while also tempering them with more down to earth expectations.
