Facilities plan for UW 2011-2016....

For sports, the indoor golf facility will start this fall. The AA will start in 2014. There is a pool facility for the swim team listed under Nanotorium(spelled something like that).

If you think the campus has changed the last 5 years, just wait....

Indoor golf facility. Money well spent.

Jensen must have given Burman a hand job or 80. Or vise versa.

Everyone's making a big deal about the golf facility. Who cares? It costs 750,000 and it's from a PRIVATE donor. In other words, some golfer in Laramie wanted to use an indoor bad enough they are paying for it.

What interested me is the AA renovations. They are going to decrease seating but we'll have a minimum of 10,000 seats. That should make the stadium louder except for on the occasional night we sell more tickets than whatever the minimum is. It will push everyone closer to the court and will probably increase our home court advantage. I'm wondering if someone is finally going to pony up the dough to change the name to "Hell's Half Acre".

Or Dome of Doom? Either way, I'd be happy.

So long as they name the court after Kenny Sailors, I don't care what they call the building. He deserves it, the '43 team deserves the recognition and it would show the commitment to the tradition that is Wyoming Basketball.

Not everybody, Junky in the Trunky, just me. I think it is rediculous that UW has a golf team instead of a skiing team. Always have, always will. Fuck golf.

Really, a private donor? Just one guy from Laramie? For fact? I don't believe it. Although Laramie does have it's share of idiots with money.

You're not the only one Peach: certainly one of the most vocal about it, but definitely not the only one. There are a lot of people that think that money could be spent elsewhere and I would agree if the donors didn't request that it be spent on the indoor golf facility. I agree that golf in Laramie is a waste of time and money. I would be thrilled to see us drop it and replace it with skiing or hockey: something cold weather that we could be competitive at.

Still, they aren't going to change it. The money for the facility came from people that requested the donation be spent on Golf, not football or basketball. If they want to waste their money on an indoor(that they'll probably be able to use as well), let them.
