Oh.....this is gonna be fun to watch.

A league source told ESPN Wednesday afternoon "right now the votes are not there for San Diego State" to be approved by the conference.

I second that. This is going to get interesting....fast.

I read the language. Boise had SDSU's back. While the language is a bit vague and SDSU really only has any claims as a third-party beneficiary (which is a tough claim to prove) should the MWC not negotiate in "good faith", the logistics is that the MWC will be forced to bring SDSU back if it desires to reach 12 by next year. It is extremely doubtful that any team will be able to join the league much after Jan. 31 and play next fall as it is coming down to the wire for scheduling.

My guess is that SDSU joins in the next week or two and offers are extended to Houston and SMU. Houston and SMU won't have much time at all to make a decision. If Houston and SMU decline and join the Big East, we then offer UTEP and/or Tulsa for 2014.

Still, I think Sterk's seat is getting pretty toasty.

The MWC is going to PAY to have Boise State back? To the tune of $3M? Somethings wrong here.

And giving more special incentives to Boise...but from our perspective as Wyoming fans it is disgustingly absolutely necessary. Wyoming had the chance to be literally left in the cold if Boise went to the "big east" and created a western division with even more MWC teams. Unfortunately Wyoming doesn't have a large market or a national brand.

Holy fuck face....Could SDSU seriously be this stupid?

Some are saying that SDSU is fence-sitting so that the MWC will cut them a better deal to get back in. Now that......is about as delusional as it gets. UTEP, come on down and join Houston and SMU!

That could very well cost SUDS in the long run.
The Asstec fans are trying to claim that Fresno "isn't happy with the Boise deal" therefore they may join the Big East. Did I mention they might be a little on the delusional side?

A little? When I've needed some laughs, I go over to the Mesa boards to look at their latest chats of going Indy or starting a new conference, and how the Front Range schools (especially us) have been keeping them down for the last 30+ years.

Those poor asstecs.. they really think they're people now. I read the article mentioned above about SDSU fence sitting. How stupid can you be? That program would be completely unheard of had it not been for Marshall Faulk.. and now they think they're a national brand? Oh, getting housed by Louisiana-Lafayette and BYU the last two years in bowls really puts you on the map!

Most of that ($2.5 Million) comes from money the conference withheld from them. I would think the rest would come from money withheld from SDSU.
