ESPN has Wyoming projected.....

Well, if Utah can win 3 more games, we may just see them in the New Mexico Bowl.
Don't think anyone would grumble about that. Ute fans would clearly be disappointed to play an old conference mate after a awful beginning to their Pac-12 membership. Wyoming would be prime for a so-called "upset".

Tarheels in the Independence Bowl.

I'd rather the Pokes go to the New Mexico Bowl and have either Air Force or TCU go to the Independence Bowl.

Anyone else hoping for a better bowl opponent if Wyoming does become eligible and go to New Mexico? I know beggars can't be choosers, but still.......Iowa State?

This sounds like UCLA in '04... "Wyoming?"

aaaand Fresno in '09 ... "Wyoming?"

And it really irritated me when I read it, so I'm fine with Iowa State.
I'd be more than fine with the Cycones, too, assuming we get bowl eligible. (Knock on wood).
When they played in Laramie in '97, they brought more fans than any of our conference mates EVER bring to Laramie. Seem to have a passionate fan base. It'd be a fun time.

Start planning for those holiday trips......

I'm hoping for the Pionsettia Bowl against the Hawaii Rainbows. Their QB is the second coming of Tony Romo....and not in the good way.

Let's leave Romo out of this I have to see him be suspect enough on Sunday I don't need it in my Saturday threads!

  Moniz is really REALLY bad at times!

My only fear for the New Mexico Bowl is the opponent........the Pac-12 is unlikely to have enough bowl eligible teams. In that case, an at large gets sent to Albuquerque. I'm seeing Eastern Michigan, Louisiana Tech, San Jose State........ick.......

Ohio in the NM Bowl......Wake Forest in the Indy Bowl.

What if we only lost one more game (BSU), went to the Las Vegas bowl (assuming BSU wins out and goes BCS) and end up playing the Utards? I'm not sure the Utard fans would recover.

Could still end up playing them in the New Mexico Bowl, however unlikely. I fear Wyoming would play UCLA in the Vegas Bowl yet again if they went there. My money's on the Indy bowl though. They'll finish 4th behind BSU, TCU, and AFA. Assuming BSU goes BCS bowling, Wyoming would go to the bowl game that requires the 3rd place MWC team. Opponents could be Miami, Wake Forest, Virginia, and North Carolina State.

Bowl games don't simply go to the order of finish in the conference. The 2nd MWC bowl game isn't required to go to the 2nd place finisher. That's simply the order the bowl games get to choose from. I believe TCU is pretty much locked into the Independence Bowl. Even though TCU will likely finish 2nd in the conference, a western team would be more appealing to a western bowl and TCU would be more appealing to a bowl game that is only a 3 hour drive from campus.

It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out. At this point I don't really care which bowl game Wyoming gets. I just want them to get into one cuz I plan on going no matter which one it is.
