Still your expecting a rookie coach to out coach all other coaches who've mostly been with their respective teams for years.
Rookie coach? Wait a minute. This guy's been around a long time in the tutelage of an expert. Didn't he learn anything in this interval? It's not like they went down to the mall and picked some some bum to come in to coach.
He's still a rookie head coach. In case you haven't noticed, they are no longer running the Larry Shyatt system. Which means players are learning a new system. And just like the football team went through, the system change is drastic.

Allen Edwards deserves the same opportunity to add his own players to the roster before he is judged.

The coach seems to be learning a new system as well. I haven't yet been convinced that he knows what players he needs for his system because of how inconsistent he has been. It still looks like we are just plying playground ball a lot of the time.

A good coach adapts his system to fit the players that he inherits. You can't force your system right away
This postulation couldn't be more correct. A GOOD coach would implement his system incrementally, integrating his ideas one at a time until they are all in place. This gives the players time to adapt to each change and makes the transition smooth.

So you're saying Craig Bohl isn't a good coach, got it.
Hey dufus, basketball is much different than football. This was a discussion on basketball. Got it? Good....

And if you think Bohl went all in on his system, you are crazy. He adapted to the talent he inherited and tried to win with it. It was incremental.

There was nothing incremental about what Bohl did to the football team. He implemented his system on day one regardless of personell and we paid a heavy price for that the first two years.

Suffice it to say its been a difficult year, this team is hard to watch. Call it insufferable, Edwards shows his teams performance well. Can't blame him, but sticking with JMac as his conduit has reaped sorry consequences. I love the kid, but as been articulated no with no JA he looks like a third stringer.

Edwards has tried everything except the obvious thing to do. Start Dalton and James. I don't get it.

I'd be happy and satisfied if for just one game Edwards started and played Dalton, James and Adams 30+ min. If we lose then Edwards could give all the naysayers and fans a big FU and go back to the crazy stuff he's been doing with his lineups.

Another gripe. Why does he pull hot players? Herndon was tearing the Broncos up in the second half and he gets pulled for some reason. Leave him in there, coach! If it was for rest, there was a really long stoppage in play.. there's his rest. Get him back in there. And how many times has Adams or Naughton been hot to start the game and boom they get pulled because Edwards has a pre-determined script (most likely scribbled on a 3x5 note card) he sticks to?

I am not sure that starting Dalton is the obvious thing to do. Dalton has been pretty bad at times lately and depending on matchups, our scrawny frontcourt combo (Dalton/Herndon) is not always a no-brainer.

James though? He and JMac should switch minutes. James is the best player on the team and everybody except for Allen Edwards seems to realize that.

I am not sure Coach thinks James's head is always in the right place defensively. There is much, much more to the game and to coaching than scoring bunches. If you listen to coach, he is still trying to teach the team to hang its hat on defense and rebounding. James and Dalton usually put up the most points, but I don't think coach wants to let them think they get a free pass on everything else as long as they score.
