Eastern Pokes...Bowling Green anyone?

We are evaluating it. There are a group of us between Wyoming and Colorado to go to an away game every year. I have a buddy who is in the Army....he was in Iraq last year during the Texas game so he couldn't go. He gets to pick what game we go to.

Whats the game situtation like in Bowling Green? We are actually even looking at going to North Texas where it is warm and the woman are loose....hahahahahhaa (gosh I hate Texas!)

So, what are the pro's/con's of going to Bowling Green?

I'm not sure there are any pro's other than, it is the only game I can realistically drive to this year.

I can't find any information on the net about tailgating, bar scene, or other interesting things to do.

I will probably end up going (due to proximity).

Ohio is such a depressing place.

I plan on driving out to that game and attending.

i wanted to go to the toledo game last year, but decided to go to the game vs boise st.

so its a much shorter drive now, instead of a 25 hr drive to laramie its only gonna be like 8 hrs

I thought Bowling Green was in Tennessee or Kentucky?

There is a Bowling Green, Kentucky but that's were Western Kentucky University is.

Bowling Green State University, our opponent this year, is in Ohio. A close of mine got her master's degree from BGSU. Fortunately she got her Bachelor's at Wyoming. She and her husband (& 2 kids) now live in Torrington, WYOMING!

I believe that the rocket at Toledo's stadium is pointed at the 50 yard line of Bowling Green's field. It seems like I recall BGSU was considering dropping football at one point recently. We have a couple docs here in the hospital who got their undergrad done at BGSU.

Air Force and CSU are definite away games for me this year. I'm seriously contemplating Boise as well just to see their venue and the ugh.... the blue turf.

I'll be there. I went to the Toledo game last year. It's only an eight-hour drive from Northern Virginia. Interestingly, Bowling Green is about 30 miles south of Toledo. You take the same exit off the Ohio Turnpike -- only go south. We had around 500 Poke fans at UT last year. I hope to see that, or more next year. It will be interesting to see the reaction of the Falcon fans as their old head coach is now our offensive coordinator.

Those are the same 3 away games I'll be going to. The Air Force Academy is a great place to watch a game.

If the football schedule up here at Montana works, I'm going to try to hit Boise. I think Boise is the same weekend as the first round of the FCS playoffs..
