Early lines are out. We are +35 pts. at TCU

Seems about right, I guess. TCU's defense is probably as good if not better than Texas' and Boise. Right now, it's hard to imagine our offense putting up more than 10 points. They have some big playmakers and a very mobile qb.

I hope and pray that some day we are competitive in games like this instead of wondering if we can cover the 35 point spread.

It seems the dice are falling tough for the Pokes this year...

TCU, coming off their worst showing of the year (and maybe 2 or 3 years), and dropping in the polls, now immediately faces UW at home...and you can bet Patterson will have them clicking on all cylinders.

I'm just hoping we'll get out of this game without injuries, and with a chip on our shoulders that make us play lights out in the next game.

I thought the same thing when we played Texas and Boise State (no injuries please!). Then I realized something...we don't play aggressive enough against top quality - top 10 opponents to get injured. :?

NOTE: Our only injuries of any significance this season have come in practice, or against the AFA.

You know what they say......the best defense is a good offense. And we ain't got one. Our poor defense will be out there all game while the "O" goes 3 and out over and over.

What about ACS' hand injury against Toledo? After that happened, our offense fell apart and it seemed that his passes were quite a bit off target, including the one he logically should've thrown out of bounds that ended up intercepted.

I didn't see the game...

Yet, didn't ACS's hand get injured (stepped on) the 2nd (or 3rd) offensive series, pre UW score?

I honestly don't remember. All I know is that there's probably a reason Leonard threw a TD pass while ACS didn't. Both McCoy's and Leonard's passes were longer than ACS' longest completion (19 yards).

Best strategy - call this one a lost cause. Play only the subs with Crum going the distance. Use the A-team to take two weeks to prepare for something special against Utah. That way you are ready for Utah and the subs get experience (and take the knocks) and the A-team gets a chance to heal up.

As much as that sounds awful, if ACS needs time to heal his hand and if others have nagging injuries already, I don't see why not. We don't have a bye week anyway. Would it be considered poor sportsmanship? I don't agree with not playing ANY starters, but it seems that rotating more than you normally would while keeping ACS out would be the right thing to do.

I have to 100% disagree here. I say you put the est team on the field week in and week out because to beat the best you have to play your best players and hope they play their beat to win.

There is an old saying... The sun shines on every dogs ass sometimes... now this may sound bad but if that is what it takes for the Pokes to win then I hope we are the dogs ass Saturday against TCU!!! :twocents:

Agrees, sounds funny, but I hope so as well. Playing the 2nd team practically guarantees a loss, but the 1st teams could possibly play lights out and get it done. Maybe Dalton gets injured by Beizuns or Knapton. Maybe Ghalli returns one for a TD. Maybe ACS pulls off a couple more big downfield plays. Maybe the Defense plays as well as it did against Texas for the first 25 minutes all game long. Maybe our special teams continue to be pretty damn good.

By the way, who coaches the special teams??? That seems to be the most obvious improvement with the new staff. To whoever it is, Kudos.
