DU's got next.

They did beat us last year. Time for some revenge, and hopefully we'll have a couple of numbers next to our name next week!

It will be interesting to see if we can keep getting the youngsters more minutes before conference starts. I think Bentz might have played his way ahead of Sobey on the depth chart. Sobey had a couple of turnovers. Bentz played flawlessly.
Against DU discipline is critical, so I would be surprised if Bentz doesn't play a lot, as long as we're still resting Riley Grabau. I don't expect to see Riley before conference starts.

Agreed. I think you will see Bentz quite a bit against DU and UCSB. I wonder if Grabau might be back for SMU. There is another pretty long break between UCSB and the SMU game. If he sits till SMU that is basically a month that he would have off.

Expect a pretty tight (7 -8 players max) rotation from here on out.

UW won't get a real number next to their name unless we beat SMU and stay undefeated that is when you will see enough votes to move us into a place we haven't been in a very long time.

stupid... Sobey didn't lose any minutes today. Trust me

Agreed and Bentz only played like 10 minutes. I mean, good for him but is he really gonna be playing a lot more now?

I think he made Shyatt feel comfortable if he ever has to go to him if we are thin, but I don't see him getting extended minutes

You almost never see a knee injury get better in a week or two. I can't quite figure out why they think Grabau is going to be able to play so soon when everybody knows if you push a knee it could cost you the entire season. I can't see why they had him in the illinois state game.

He hasn't played since Colorado, he didn't play against ISU, or Panhandle... which means it'll be 2 weeks once Denver rolls around Shyatt said he needed 6 days so we shall see.

Well, I may have company with me for the DU game. My uncle and cousins from Kansas may go to the game with me (only thing keeping it from being definite is my 18 year old cousin going to k-state, he's not much of a sports guy at all).

He will get minutes as long as Grabau is out. He won't see any once Grabau returns though IMO.

I'm just glad he's getting some quality minutes. It's always good to have several guys that have been tested when conference starts.

See my previous post on this topic. Grabau's knee problem is related to an iliotibial (IT) band. I've dealt with this basically my whole adult life. It is the kind of thing that can be managed with a little stretching, foam rolling, massage, strengthening exercises, and in some cases, a bit of rest. It is painful when symptomatic but if managed properly not the kind of thing that will cost him anywhere near a season.

I have learned a lot about knees, most of it the hard way. This is, in the scheme of things, very rarely a serious issue.

So, if Grabau comes back for the SMU or start of MWC play and Adams proves he is worthy of getting significant playing time. What do we (shyatt and staff) do?
Do they want to get back to our original slower pace of the game and bring adams in off the bench? Does bentz get some significant playing time?
Do we run a 8 man roation where adams/bentz/gilmore/grabau get similar minutes with cooke/nance/leonard getting similar playing time?

And after watching that ISU game, I think as long as we play smart, and the D shows up, I think we handle DU easily, and then looking ahead to the SMU game, I think we put them away and win by 15ish. Similar score to the Wyo-Isu game the difference being we don't get behind by 19

I think when Riley comes back he will start and Adams will be energy and scoring off of the bench, which every team needs! I think Bentz only plays in the event that we have foul trouble and I don't see our rotation with the bigs changing

Don't like anything about Joe Scott and his Princeton offense, didn't like him at AF and hopefully we'll shake the rust early and show DU who we are on the 18th. I'm so addicted to this team that I can't wait to see them again...

I from an entertainment standpoint want adams to start. From a wyo fan and wanting wyo to win as many games as possible standpoint want grabau to start.
And I think grabau comes back and adams gets the bench spot, which will be great as he will be running like crazy and be scoring points in bunches.

Speaking of Adams.... Who remembers all those highschool kids from the team Josh Adams beat in the state championship harrassing him for months after the state title game? Calling him a shitty player and making fun of him because he committed to wyoming. I wonder wtf they have to say now?

Adams or Grabau, regardless of who is on the bench at tip off will likely get close to starters minutes... I said it once, I will say it again... There are few things in big time basketball as important as energy off of the bench
