Does anyone else remember Shy saying, we're looking at....

a couple of guys to fill this year's available scholarship? I also read a quote saying it might be within the next week.

I'm a firm believer that JL Davis would be good for the Wyoming program. He can play some ball. He just might be friends with a couple of other ballers from Florida that we're looking at.

Still, I think our team needs a small forward for the upcoming season more than it needs another point. That's what logic would tell me. We'll need the extra ball handler with one of the six sholarships Shy will have in the fall, for sure. Currently, I think we need another wing more than anything else.

Who's the other possible transfer we're looking at?

and....

Which Wyoming fan is going to dig up the scoop?

Doesn't Shyatt believe in big men? Waddell is leaving so It would seem reasonable to get a replacement in now to get some minutes in around Waddell and be ready for the season after.

I think he feels comfortable with the three he got. Make no mistake, Larry Nance Jr. is going to grow some more and end up at Power Forward. With Tyrone, Lekan, and Adam, we've got a solid group.

Who do we have that is a legit small forward, aside from Afam?

Cruz can play the three. Decent rebounder for his size, good mid-range game, lacks the quickness to defend a lot of 2 guards in the MWC. I can see him getting minutes at the 3 in a 3-guard lineup with 2 smaller guards (Gilmore, Grabau, Martinez, maybe Davis if we sign him, etc.). I think Shyatt probably feels, with some justification, that the biggest question mark for next season is at the guard positions.

Like you, I see Nance at the 4 in the future. Between Waddell, Ajayi, Marshall, Washington, and Nance I feel ok about our 4/5 rotation next year.

The health of Muojeke and Waddell will be the key to next year. Hopefully everyone has patience. What Shyatt is walking into is akin to what Steve Fisher took over at SDSU and Miles at CSU. The program has just been gutted and destroyed. Those two guys each had a completely winless MWC season at the beginning of their rebuilding process. Shyatt will get us where we want to go, but it probably won't be next year. It will require some patience.

So, if there are two guys that are possible transfers, what position do you think the other one is? I would feel a lot more comfortable with another guy to take some minutes off of Afam's recovering legs.

I think we only have one scholarship open right now (12 currently committed for next year: Gilmore, Luster, Grabau, Martinez, Cruz, Muojeke, Nance, Marshall, Ajayi, Waddell, Washington, Bouedo).

Totally agree about Afam's health. We don't have any proven depth next year for sure.

I would expect to see at least a couple of true wings in the 2012 class.

True, but Shyatt commented recently that there we're a couple of guys they were looking at to fill this years remaining scholarship, who's Jacoby Davis' competition for this year's scholarship?
