Do you really think Texas State is a trap game?

And please know that I don't think any of us are counting this as a sure win like y'all are. We aren't worried about slowing you down, we are worried about relying on the offense to score more points than the defense

Not sure it matters what fans think - only matters what the players & coaches think. And as far as you (and I) know, neither one of our teams are counting this as a sure win.

That said, Nebraska wasn't worried about slowing us down either. Just FYI.

I wouldn't bet anything on this game. If Wick continues to fumble the ball and TS spends a LOT of time slowly moving on offense, we might not have nearly as many scoring opportunities as we'd like.

As I said earlier, didn't they replace six of seven starters on their D line and at linebacker? ;)

Umm? Vegas only had us at 4.5 for the AFA game. And you saw what happened there... Laugh all you want, but our current QB was a freshman the first year you saw us and you know what happened (clearing throat) 45-10. Now he's seasoned and has far more talented wideouts this year. And unlike Texas Tech we have a running game. On top of that, your defense has an over inflated ranking. Yes, it's true. You kind of stopped arguably the worst FBS school in S Miss, yet they still put up 400 yards on you. You stop PVA&M. (Amazing). Then you gave up over 400 yards to two Freshman QBs and a 1 deminsional offense in TTU... I don't think you have much to laugh about.
So you have another chance!!! Bet the ranch! Bet all of your land! Your horses!

Not worried about the fumble Wick had he has never shown a tendency to fumble the ball. If he did it would be a concern. The AF defense made a good play and punched the ball out. Herron had two fumbles against UNC and I dont hear people saying they're worried about Herron. Wick is a between the tackles runner and it happens on occasion.

He lost the ball three times on Saturday. Once it was an actual fumble lost, once it was after the ball barely got into the end zone, and the last time he had a knee down.

You can bet the TS video coaches have caught on to that.

I am not certain what you are inferring?

Replacing doesn't mean downgrading. For instance, what if last years unit sucked ass - and the RS guys are twice the athletes? In that case, I would want them replaced as well. Wasn't like the replaced parts were from a NC team or something.

Here's another one of our overrated stats :D

Forced fumbles:
1 Anthony Barr UCLA Sr.
- Deon Broomfield Iowa St.
- Mike Orakpo Texas St.
4 Brandon Golson West Virginia
5 Jonathan Anderson TCU

I'm not counting my chickens in any game and each and every game makes me nervous as a fan. From what I hear, Texas State has a decent defense and a so-so offense. They beat Southern Miss, but did only manage 250 yards to Southern Miss's 400+. Not sure what to think about this.....especially given that Southern Miss is at the bottom of the Bottom 10 and got destroyed by Nebraska.

We're pretty familiar with Orakpo. Saw a lot of him when he played for CSU. I'm sure the coaches are well aware of his presence.

What I don't understand is why you keep comparing us to Tech, and getting hope from doing that...their one dimensional offense with 2 freshman qbs put up...was it 33 against your defense that is so great?

YOU(TX St) fans haven't see a QB like Brett Smith, yet this year, have fun stopping him, he's only getting started!!!!

Mint, not sure if you knew this little fact or not, but this past summer Brett Smith went on vacation to the Virgin Islands.

Now, they just call them The Islands.

In all seriousness, I have said and will continue to say that we have not faced a QB like Brett Smith. Offense, debatable. But we can all agree you have a VERY talented quarterback

As someone else said, he's a transfer from CSU. He's probably been the best thing to happen to our defense in a very long time. Not so much because he's a playmaker, but simply the fact that he's hungry to win and has stepped up as a team leader... not to mention he's an excellent recruiter and for TXST
