Disgraceful humiliating, pathetic, deplorable, disgusting

Nine games left.

Losses for sure to Nevada, AFA, Boise State, Fresno State, and at best a split with UNLV and San Diego State, so a miracle season would be 4-8. All thanks to the defense. Not the players. The coaches.

When does basketball start? Yes Basketball. No Football.

Brett looked like such a Tool tonight on the sidelines.
Huh? Explain please.
This may just be me but I think if you are injured you should look professional on the sideline if you are going to be there and still represent the team. Brett was there in basketball shorts and a backwards visor with a headset on. He spent the entire time joking around with a staff member. I would think if he was such a great qb and team player that he would be on that sideline giving Kirk advice and such just like you see at major schools. You guys may think its stupid but that's what big time QBs do.

The crazy thing is, I actually think the defense has gotten worse since last year. Didn't think that was possible.

Hate to say it, but I told you folks. When Tormey was at UH, the defense (specifically the secondary) dropped off big time despite returning key players. Nobody was sad when we left.

We lost defensive players that people don't realize how many of the turn overs they created and how many forced 3 and outs they created. Here just look at this and cry when you think about it.

Everyone that left the program last year was 75% of our defense what we have left is just getting gashed left and right because no one has stepped up to fill those shoes that left.

^^^You're preaching to the choir. I tried to point this out during the off-season many times. Biezuns/Knaptons we're beasts....quiet beasts that were under appreciated.

Without a doubt I agree 100% very very under appreciated.

In my opinion we can blame the defensive coordinator all we want but the simple fact is that the defense was terrible last year and the defense is terrible this year. What is the common denominator? It is the head coach! The buck stops at the top. Coach Christiansen has done a good job getting the offense going (when Brett is playing I should say) but the defense has been terrible every year he has been the head coach.

I'm not going to blame the defensive coordinator for this. The blame goes to the whole staff and team but ultimately it falls squarely on Coach C IMO.

I'm telling you right now that Blackman from Idaho will shred Wyoming's defense next week. Anyways I will hope for a miracle to happen.

There is no excuse whatsoever.

This was a debacle of epic proportions and in my opinion it retards EVERY SINGLE PIECE of positive momentum and program building elements that the Christensen era has seen going into its 4th season.

The entire team should be forced to take to a stadium microphone and apologize to each and every person who traveled from all points across the state to witness such a pathetic disaster.

What do we really have here?

This team has been so overrated by me and by so many other people...today's result win or lose was an abortion either way...I WOULD BE WRITING THESE COMMENTS EVEN IF THEY HAD FOUND A WAY TO WIN THIS GAME.

Here I was earlier in the week asking why we could not be the next Boise State?

The question in and of itself should have me transported to a mental facility someplace after this program disaster this afternoon.

238 RUSHING YARDS?

Somewhere right about now Marty English has a smile creasing his face.

4 plays into the game and it's 7-0?

This team is nothing more than Brett Smith and some decent wide receivers -- NOTHING MORE.

I am embarrassed by this team, the coaching staff, and hopefully they feel the same way about themselves.

Kory Jones spoke earlier this week about the potential to have a 'dominant defense?'

Maybe he should be committed before me?

I love Coach Christensen, however, his post game remarks need to be littered with stomach turning disgust.

The Dave Christensen era suffered a MAJOR LEAGUE setback today in Laramie.

Cancel the rest of the season...save us from further humiliation...and yourselves as well.

Can only imagine how you would evaluate his effort if you didn't love Coach Christensen.

I am not a negative person, but I was embarrassed beyond words yesterday to be a Wyoming Cowboy fan - more than I ever have been in my life. The entire coaching staff gets a failing grade. I wasted my time, my money, & my energy.

Well said, with the exception of the head coach, I believe you speak for the majority of us...

That will mark my words will cost us a huge hit on attendance, You thought the stands were empty last year vs New Mexico on senior day? Just wait and see the upcoming weeks. It's going to be brutal this was a must win game to even keep fans interested.

So it appears we are at a cross roads. Die hard fans are frustrated to the point of threatening their support for the team. Does a struggling football program deserve zero support whatsoever (death sentence), or does it deserve MORE support?

Fan base abandonment doesn't help a team bounce back from adversity. If we expect a team to never give up for us, we must never give up on them. Am I right? Isn't that what sports teach us? That in times of uncertainty your true character comes out?

I don't think anyone is seriously thinking about abandoning the football program -- we love the POKES, but the fan base is more than understandably PISSED OFF about the results.

I think it speaks very well to the fan base that they have come out so frustrated and disgusted with the state of affairs right now...if the fan base had the same yawning projection that the head coach had after yesterday's disgrace, I'd be concerned.

Bottom line is that POKES fans are more than tired of 1 step forward and 2 steps back...do WYOMING fans not deserve better than the scraps they've been receiving the last few years?-

I'm proud of the fan base for expressing such disdain for the sub mediocre results we've been getting these days.

Go Pokes!

I personally watched every game of the 2010 season no matter how disappointing, I never missed a Basketball game and there were some awful ones. I won't abandon the Pokes but a lot of fans will.

Really now?

Well lets put your theory to the test.

Is anyone here on this board ready to give up their love and passion for the Pokes?

I won't be giving any more time or money into the program until I see a major change. Won't be attending or watching any games this year. If the school doesn't invest time and money into the school then I no longer will either.

Signed,

A disgusted, embarrassed former Poke fan.

Most of the people on these boards are pretty die hard, But let's be realistic we had some pathetic attendance last year for a team that we should have sold out every game. People will definitely spend their time elsewhere than watching a team get beat.

Die Hards no we will be here watching and bitching from opening until the fat lady sings but I am afraid we will take an attendance hit on this one.
