My deal with OS is they have a program that I've always wanted to do. And in the past couple years realized I could actually do it. SHOULD have already transferred there but had some other issues come up, and that's why I'm still here.

Hurry up and get there quickly!

Good night, Pop-Tart.

Oh, my bad. I just assumed you were from Oregon, what with the name and the infatuation with OSU and whatnot. Are you not transferring anyways?

PS: Mad props. Not many would willingly claim Evanston.
Easy there, Wolfie. I was born there too...

So it isn't the water.

I'm expecting to hear about this conversation on your show big shot.
Maybe when I move I will act like you do. Just be a total tool to everyone, act like I'm from there and cheer for them go lose.

It's the proximity to the Zion Curtain and Rock Springs. It warps minds at an early age.

I managed to escape very young, but some damage was already done...

Last thing I've ever claimed was to be a big shot - far from it.

Other last thing I've ever inferred to anyone is that I am 'from here.'

Lastly, I work with cows now.

Dino, I get that you want to see a much better product out there. We all do. Our defense is embarrassing, no doubt.
But what I don't get, is why you won't cheer for Wyo to go to, and win a bowl?
If you are a fan, you should be cheering for Wyo to win as much as possible.
Yes the defense is atrocious, but if we get the W, why not enjoy it?

I want changes made and want the team to be much better next season, yeah, but I still hope the team wins out this season.
You just perfectly expressed the difference between someone who expects excellence and someone who's just happy with what they get.

What? Because I cheer for Wyo to win that is being happy with what I get? Okay.....
No, because you pump up dubious victories while trying to denigrate people who want to curb sophomoric, facile enthusiasm and face reality so we can identify our issues and address them in order to achieve an acceptable level of play.

Haha good God man. I've said this before, all I want is Wyoming to win a bowl game this season. You just want Wyoming to lose.
And you want to curb the enthusiasm so we can identify our issues and address them? Lol what are we the fucking coaches now? You think it really matters what some fans say on the internet?? Haha holy shit really?
Bottom line is I cheer for Wyoming to win. And you think your constant bitching about the program, using lame ass movie quotes, and insulting real fans who cheer makes a difference in Wyoming Cowboy football. This forum was intended to provide a place for Wyoming fans to talk football, not for you to think your whining, shit-talking, forced misery, high horse riding/chest thumping and overall false sense of superiority actually have any impact on Wyoming Cowboy football.
"Identify and address our issues".... what a joke. You're on a message board dude! Not the coaching staff.
Ever wonder why there is a culture of complacency and a lackadaisical attitude toward accountability for performance (as cited by Sternberg's commissioned report) so entrenched at UW Athletics?

Believe me, I have far, far more years and effort invested in this program than you ever will.

Oh you have more years invested than I do? Please tell me how that makes you a fan one more time. And by the way, thump that chest some more, I actually might start cheering for Wyo to lose so I can act like I'm the great know-all like you!
Tell you what, kid- when you've had the same season tickets for over thirty years, get back to me. I'll never get those thirty years back, and you'll likely never surpass my investment. Unless you can somehow match that or make me whole, I'd say that in terms of measurable commitment to UW Athletics, you're in, not just mine, but a lot of people's shadows around here, with little chance of getting any sunlight soon.

Wait! Is someone wanting to measure dicks again, Wyovanian?
We get it, yours is wrinkled up and diminished, just like your UW fan hood.
Stop being jealous of the younger Generations endowment, and let us be our own fans to this program without you always whipping out your pathetic load and telling us of how you've had great times in the past.

You know, you may have got to enjoy our success in the 50's and 60's, but then you had to suffer through the 70's and early 80's. Both our generations enjoyed the late 80's and even success in the 90's. Now like you and the 70's and early 80's, us younger guys have to suffer through the early 2ks and so far mediocre 2010's.
Just like you I would've loved to see WYO destroy Haw 56-10 or 66-0 lie we used to do, but we didn't. We did however get the win. So like the majority of Poke fans I will enjoy an entertaining win, unlike you. So go zip up your trousers and lay down for your nap, and dream about what used to be, okay?
As for me and many others on here. We WILL enjoy the success of the day, never wish ill or loss on any player or coach and keep on striding for the next potential year of success while hoping that the AD makes the right decision to allow for the best of the program.

And GO POKES!!!

And if you all struggle with our mediocrity at the time, just do what I do, either listen to or watch a gamecast of the JOKE that is Kansas football, it will instantly make even the most miserable Cowboy fans feel better about their team.

Many of the responses to this thread and others re-affirm my faith in the astute Wyoming fan and general football fan.

Kudos to many of you who recognize the over the top hyperbole being employed by some here with a win today over a previously and still winless football team --- and doing so by the skin of their teeth.

The notes about how this pom-pom waving over such a trivial football game today reflects the poisoned culture of sub mediocrity is right on the mark - and I applaud those who see through the charade.

Win or lose today - this is a shipwrecked football program that is in dire need of a total and complete fumigation from top to bottom.

These silly words about a bowl game show a total lack of awareness by some -- I fear these are the same kinds of people who unfortunately have been a part of the problem in Laramie -- instead of part of the solution.

Their manufactured enthusiasm over such a game like this afternoon's aids and abets the system that has been status quo for far too long.

If a win over a winless opponent at the end of a more than dreary season is enough to get people as excited as I've seen through reading some posts here -- then why should the 'good-enoughers' in Laramie seek major changes?

They look at this stuff with the birthday parties being thrown by some here and say to themselves; 'See? All they want is a nice and exciting win once in a while. And as long as we get to 5 wins each year with a chance for a 6th in our final game with the possibility of bowl eligibility...that's good enough for our fans".

Excuse my french my friends: But I say BULLSHIT to that.

It may be enough for some brown & gold cheerleaders here - but it is far from good enough for me, and obviously, based upon some great posts I've read tonight, it's not good enough for others besides myself.

I'd rather tear this house down completely and finish 2--10 next season --> if it meant that we were headed by an administration and a coaching staff that was competent, had vision, was effective recruiting athletes, had clear championship aspirations, and can produce sustained football success.

Anything else, such as silly short term gratification based upon an irrelevant victory earlier today, and believing that that victory can even temporarily band-aid the infectious disease that continues to spread at The War, is someone who has zero credibility, and more than that hasn't a clue about how to actually build something of tangible quality.

Wyoming Football is dead right now and it needs a resurrection - and the current people involved are not those to be entrusted with the task.

Today's BIG win doesn't move the needle forward in that vain even one degree.

You may question my fandom all you wish to you simple-minded little pissant - however - I know where my heart and rooting interests lie, and it's always with the Pokes.

Because I am such a passionate fan I want more.

I demand more.

And so should you.

More than wanting and demanding more, how about possessing some discernment along the way, and realizing that a 'bowl game' is, at this juncture, MEANINGLESS to the short AND long term growth of this football program.

When Wyoming football is headed up by the professional and maturation like qualities of a Larry Shyatt type individual, I'll be more than enamored with the direction of what goes on on the floor of War Memorial Stadium.

The Pokes have given up TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY FIVE POINTS (255) in their LAST FIVE (5) GAMES.

That's an average of over FIFTY ONE (51) points per game over that span.

Grow up.

How you or anyone else can look themselves in the mirror or take themselves seriously when referencing 'bowl game' in the same sentence as the current incarnation of Wyoming Football is out of touch -- and helpless I'm afraid.

Next season looks like it'll be 2 - 10 whether we tear the house down or leave things as they are. So we may as well tear it down and give the new regime the "down" year to start the building process. There's been talk here about the difficulties of attracting a top coach. Well, it might be a little easier to attract someone coming off of a 5-7, or dare I say it, a 6-6 season with a returning Brett Smith, then it will be coming off next year's 2-10 season without your returning QB and a bunch of one season remaining JUCO players. And who knows, maybe the new blood can do something on the defensive side of the ball to stop the bleeding and make us a bit more competitive next season. Big Dave and the boys have proven they know nothing about defense. It won't change overnight. Even if we attract some hot-shit defensive coordinator, he'll still be under the thumb of our absolutely in-over-his-head, useless as a leader, idiot of a head coach.

The case that some folk make on this site for being great fans makes me want to puke.
Foul mouthed and small minded are the majority of comments directed primarily at others flawed logic, which in regards to Cowboy Athletics in general is so far from reality- it borders on the absurd.

Now I know why I stopped offering comments on this site. Now to Doc, Dino hides behind no mask.
He's a Cowboy. I know this, he doesn't accept bs. Which truthfully, is what this fan board with it's 4 faithful bloggers offer there back and forth. There is hardly a nugget of wisdom left here. I've read the shit, and it's ridiculous.

The Pokes suck in football, end of story.
We need a new regime, sooner than later.
Pull the plug on the corpse that is Wyoming Football. Shit can Burman, and the numb nuts that is DC. Whom your vehement comments should be directed, not Doc- who's forgot more about Sports in general I'm sure than the collective blowhards that occupy this board have ever considered. (just an opinion)

There is nothing to celebrate in Laramie about this program, and it's direction under the current guard. Flush em all, then maybe the board can offer some hope. As it is right now, there is none. Zero.

After watching the SDSU and Boise State game, give me a Rocky Long any day of the week. The guy is a coach, who knows football, can win with average players- and coaches them up to beat a pretty good team. If DC and Burman brought there lame excuse for a football team in front of Shark Tank for a stake in Wyo Football.... oh well, just say I'm out before Burman open's his mouth, or DC offers any excuse for this years misery. Cuban would look at these clowns with that sideways glance and tell them exactly what they are, posers. I'm done on this board, Dino. These clowns don't get it.

Bravo Dino and johnnywyo! Truth hurts sometimes as you have so artfully exposed. Call this shit bag program, coaches and administrators for what they are. If we went 6-6 I'd be embarrassed to accept a bid, not that we would get one anyway. I think the networks have learned their lesson this season.

The difference, Toto, is that I know that I know what ten inches really looks like, and it's not the five your Mommy assured you was ten.

It's got nothing to do with d--k size, and everything to do with attitude about performance. This program should be past the sputtering success of its past and consistently competitive. That's the part you don't seem to get. In this day and age, a lack of progress is a program in reverse. I won't use the poor performance of others to justify the mediocrity of, or lower the expectations for, the program I support.

Your rationalization of the mediocrity and excuse-making for the ineptitude and incompetence of this program has been here for everyone to see. That "culture" Sternberg's consultants identified- if you're wondering what it looks like, look in the mirror.

I don't see how I need to look in the mirror and see the mediocrity of the program staring back at me. For some odd reason you have it in your head that I'm fine with mediocre seasons year after year. I really don't know where you got that. I'm in no way proud of this season or last. But I will still be happy when we win. Satisfied? No! There's a difference.
Was I excited for our 8-5 year? Absolutely. Was I satisfied? NO! I thought just like most on here that we may have hit our turning point that year. I was EXPECTING us to get better. We didn't.
So don't try to say I'm the issue when I am happy in the moment when we win a damn game.

+1,000.

Funny how you aren't the only person to think that, or say that!

Dear god. Is this what other boards would call, "a meltdown"? Good to see our fan base imploding.

Yes sir.
Funny how it happens more after wins than it does losses.

So that goes back to the question, are those people even Wyoming fans?
Getting all pissed off after wins, like the team had no right to do that!

You really think this would be going on had we beaten Texas State and CSU? Really?

Serious question- did you ever stop before crossing a street, look both ways three or four times, then still manage to step in front of an oncoming car? It would explain a lot.
