Your scientific method lacks rigor. Try again without the speculation and overlooking interconnected events.

I pointed out deficiencies in the games against UNC and Idaho, all of which fatefully manifested themselves in the Texas State game, then saw little improvement (possibly regression) against UNM, which was followed by losses to SJSU and CSU.
So, again, tell me, had we not lost to Texas State and CSU, do you honestly believe the polarized acrimony over performance would be at the level it is now? Seriously?
