Dino Babers or Fritz

You say "don't play the houlier than thou game", then say "I've been to more Wyo games than you ever will". Right, hypocrisy is allowed if you're older, and have been to all those games and "deserve" it.
Pffft.

Babers looks like a good hire to me.
Who is he? Today is the first time in my life I've heard his name, and I follow college ball pretty well. How good of a hire could he be?

Look him up if you want to know. He is considered one of the best up and coming coaches out there, and it is only a matter of time before he goes to FBS.

NO BIG TIME FBS HEAD COACH IS INTERESTED IN COACHING WYOMING! It's reality, accept it.
Uh, what? What does 'big time' mean? The level of us or below? Because that's all I expect. Nobody's saying we should go after Gus Malzahn.

So lower division bullshit. Right, so I'm not allowed to be disappointed in that why, exactly?

A ton of coaches start in lower divisions, Chip Kelly, Jim Tressel, Urban Myer, you name it. Just because some don't work out doesn't mean they all don't. Stop being so bitter and watch how it all plays out before saying this hire will be horrible.

No coach in America is going to make a lateral move to coach in Laramie.

No FBS coach at a team more successful than us will coach in Laramie.

I don't know what you want, BrewPoke...we are going to hire someone "below" us. No one else will take it. Unless, of course, they failed at a level "above" us.

Hey imo everybody needs to get on the positive side here, most were thrilled with the DC hire..........how did that work out for us??? So why condemn a new hire when you have no clue how it will turn out!

GO POKES

When did I say this hire will be horrible? All I've done is express the somewhat prevalent belief amongst the fanbase that hiring from lower divisions would be a continuation of settling for mediocrity, a continuation of the culture of 'good enough' that this Athletics Department is famous for. What is needed at this very critical, crucial and important juncture in the history of our sports programs is not a gamble on an unproven lower division hire. Why is that so hard to grasp?

Get as much DINO as is possible!

Dino Babers to Laramie stat!

I actually like Dino Babers, I just think he needs at least one more year to prove that this year wasn't a spoof.

You seem to be telling me that we should be happy always being an also ran, because, aw shucks, we're just little ol' Wyoming.

He seems to be more of a realist, give most quality coaches the choice between (insert school here) and Wyoming, most would say the other place, for one reason or another. There's not a ton of people that would really pick Laramie over similar jobs in warmer places, or bigger cities, etc
