Did the law school firestorm buy Burman another year?

I wouldn't count the firestorm over yet. Most of the people up in arms right now are in academics. Sternberg has barely touched the cover of the athletic department. My guess is he will probably bring some on in - say a new position - VP of Athletics to take over much of Burman's duties and micromanage him into submission/quitting. I don't know what is going to happen right now - my guess is as good as anybody's. But at this point, I've never seen the Wyoming fan base so pissed off and deflated at the same time (myself included).

Everyone's over it. The status-quo just doesn't work anymore. Hell, maybe Sternberg finds another million or two to pump into athletics and redesign most of the position coaches and coordinators.

On a side note, the 2014 Legislative Budget session starts 2/10/2014. The contact information is here:

Maybe we should try to get some form letters up and get some words out to the legislature this year. I wonder if Wyonation would be willing to host or link to a petition?

I am not an eloquent writer like some, but I would for sure put my name on any petition or letter we can write for more funding to athletics.

I'm certainly not either - but I'm a pretty solid technical guy. I can write code in a few languages. I suppose the next thing we would need would to be to consult with a lawyer to ensure that what we would be sending to the legislature would be recognized. I don't know if that means voter registration validation or what - but I'm sure a lawyer could answer that.

Such a thing would be very, very simple to build. Just crossing the T's and dotting the I's to make sure what we send would be valid. Any legal profesionals out there willing to assist? It probably wouldn't hurt to find a marketing person to help sell the vision.

BTW my forming vision has nothing to do with DC or TB - but more with getting the word out that we want to see success and better funding into athletics. We have 3 months before the legislature convenes. That could be quite a few letters!

Someone should start a poll. If we could get a half dozen people involved and get a site up before December 1st, I think we could still make the legislative session.

Anyone else thinking that because Ringolsby is all in a huff over the president that must mean the pres is making the right moves? Two of the deans that left I knew personally and it was time for them to go. Dean Couzens was a nice guy and I worked with him through Greek life but he had no vision or direction he wanted to take his office. He was a counselor that got promoted. The A&S dean was a seat warmer. Dude had little to 0 involvement other than commencement speaches (and even those were terrible, atleast mine was) Most of the A&S departments regressed under the combo of him and Buchanon. I know the Geography department regressed quit a bit. Not a lot of research, poor teacher evaluations, general apathy within the department. I heard others were in similar situations. The law school thing is weird, but it sounds like a spat between a dean who wanted control of his school like he had under buchanon and Sternberg disagreed with that.

I had also heard that the Education Dean was useless and needed to go but I have no personal knowledge of that just relaying the message.

The College of Education is not well looked upon by the school districts in the state. There are much better qualified teachers coming from other schools. As the son of a principal, I've been told that the candidates that come out of UW are typically getting passed over because they are simply not prepared for the job.
